I wanted to absolutely adore this place. Honestly, I expected a 5-star experience. The aesthetic is amazing, it’s clean, well-kept, and a South Jordan “hidden gem”. It’s a spot where I would love to come on a Sunday morning. As a college student, I love finding places to hang out and complete assignments and it’s the perfect atmosphere to do so!
Unfortunately, it was sub-par. As a trained Barista, I know what quality to expect from a basic iced chai with a shot of espresso added. When I got the drink, the espresso was definitely dead. “Dead” meaning it sat out too long before added into another substance before the oxidation process sets in. But also, the chai wasn’t prepared correctly either. It had no flavor and tasted like oat milk with a pump of sugar-free vanilla and a burnt shot of espresso. My sister also got a regular iced chai and it had the same exact flavor. I’m not sure if they brew their own blend of chai spice or use a concentrate, but it was either not enough, or too much milk to concentrate ratio. I wanted to talk to the cute girls at the counter about fixing the drinks because mine was above 8$ for a 16oz, but they were really busy and hard at work. I don’t blame them at all.
For a place that looks like it prides itself in the quality & efforts they put into their coffee and chai, I was really disappointed. I am willing to try it again to see if it was an off-day or something was weird with the ratios.
I will say - the brunch sandwiches were AMAZING. Delicious, hot, and came out fast. The pastries + variety of menu items definitely exceeded expectation and I want to try other things. I really hope I can come back and leave a...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place based off the menu, but became very disappointed very quickly. Ordering was difficult. I wanted avocado toast with an egg on top, but the employee couldn’t understand what I was asking and I never got my egg. I also wanted a mint iced tea, but she kept saying hot only until I showed her a picture online on their website of what I wanted, she eventually figured it out, but with me having to take at least five minutes to get her to understand what an iced tea was. I also got the tikka masala puff pastry, and that was incredible.
Ordering aside that would’ve left my experience OK, but this is where I wish I would’ve never ordered. I used the restroom and I wish I didn’t have to because it was the most disgusting bathroom I’ve seen in a long time. I’m pretty sure it hasn’t been cleaned in over a week. Because the bathroom was so disgusting it made me hyper aware of the cleanliness of the entire restaurant. While waiting for my food, I was just observing every little detail and I don’t think anyone there ever cleans. Pretty sure all the handprints on the windows and door have been there for months. This led me to question if I was even safe to eat the food.
It really is a shame because the menu, the design, the decor, it’s all a winning combination. I beg whoever is managing this place to do a big long deep cleaning and incorporate a rigorous daily cleaning schedule as well as maintaining cleaning standards for...
Read moreI am disappointed. I ordered a custom cake from this shop for my sons birthday party. I put in the order 3 days in advance, provided details of what I wanted and gave them my phone number and email if they have questions about what I wanted. They give a message when your order is confirmed that they will call you within a day with any questions they have. After I don't hear from anyone I attempt to call the bakery and the call goes to voicemail. So then I have a funeral going on as well so I don't follow up the next day. I attempt to call the store on the day I go to pick up the cake sent to voicemail again. I go to pick up the cake on day 3 . 15 minutes after calling and being sent to voicemail again when I arrive I there are no customers in the store, but there are 2 employees. I ask them for the cake and they ask me for a receipt. I explain to then it was a custom cake and there is no way to pay for it on the website and I expected to pay in store. They tell me they didn't get the order and that it happens often there. So instead of an awesome custom cake for a birthday party I got to listen to my boy cry for his birthday because I didn't get him a cake. Worse yet is that I called before coming in to verify they had it, but even though they had no customers they couldn't answer the phone. So not the worst experience ever, no one got sick or died, but I don't think I will ever trust this...
