Island Deli — Restaurant in South Kingstown

I ordered again today from Island Deli -this time 6 sandwiches for my girlfriend luncheon (I was too lazy to make them myself and this place is just SO good). I ordered a variety which included a huge veggie sandwich on GF bread (there’s always one in the crowd and they were able to satisfy everyone.). Among the other sandwiches were tuna salad, chicken wraps and a Reuben. Everyone LOVED the Thai Chicken Peanut Wrap to which I had bacon added. I had one of these my first time there and I loved it. Today was no different. It is clearly and will continue to be my favorite sandwich. I had mine cut in half and just half was enough for one person. Someone else ate the other whole one. Another girl grabbed the half I didn’t eat (dieting hah!) and cut that in half so she had a quarter of the wrap in addition to half of another HUGE sandwich. Then someone else grabbed the other quarter and scarfed it down. Three people shared one Thai Peanut Chicken Wrap (with bacon)! This is all to say that the Island Deli rocks! I cannot believe I just discovered it after living here for five years. And the staff are SO nice you could just cry because people are just not this nice anymore! As you can tell, I truly love this place AND the Thai Peanut Chicken Wrap (I might have the name a little mixed up but it’s close.). And don’t forget to add bacon! It really MAKES the wrap. Oh man, does the Island Deli hit the spot! The sandwiches and fries at this place are absolutely top notch!

Island deli is right near Wakefield, making it a great stopping point on the way to or from the beach. The atmosphere is laid back, one might even note, gasp, that it's similar to a deli style environment!?!? Who would have thought?

All horsing around aside, I don't recall the name of the sandwich I got but it involved some roast beef, muenster cheese, pickled red onion and thousand island. I've never had such a creation before and lo has it swayed my heart.

The food comes out hot, and the staff here is friendly, if a bit goofy at times and I can honestly say I left happy as could be.

If you're looking for a quick bite that's got more quality than your typical fast/fast-casual establishment this place might be right up your alley! If you're looking for more of a sit down or refined establishment you may want to look a bit further. I'd definitely recommend...

Fire always fresh..especially the St. Somewhere. Worth the price. Oh man, so sad to have moved away from SK not being able to support as much for lunch. When you need a quick bag lunch in Gansett, please go here. Never have had complaints. Everything is fresh. The staff is about it their business. Reminds me real customer service is still an art and can NEVER be replaced. Keep going....
