As we were leaving Tahoe for home, early morning breakfast hunger hit both of us as well as our toddler. We Yelp'd for a good suggestion & The Red Hut Cafe (TRHC) came up. We saw the ratings as well as the pictures, loved what we saw and decided to have our breakfast here. Food: We ordered Chicken & Waffles as well as a simple 2 egg breakfast that had the hashbrowns as well as biscuits with gravy. Now, I cannot stress enough that the waffles were beautiful (taste-wise), chicken was standard (albiet smaller in size than expected), eggs were good but what stole the show was the biscuits and their gravy. We never thought that the butter-laden biscuits with really simple gravy would steal the show. It really put the smile on our tired and still sleepy faces. Highly, highly recommended people! Service: Great service, they were attentive and really nice people. Seems like a family-run affair which makes it even better. We wanted chai or a simple latte and understandably they didn't have it. Now, the best part was that they redirected me to the cafe next door and told us to bring it here and enjoy it with the food. This is how the service industry needs to support each other. I went over and ordered a chai but that's for a different review and for another day! Parking: Ample parking in the front and the side. No worries there! Ambiance: Felt like an older breakfast place vibe. We liked it there, it was slighly noisy like a hustling-bustling cafe should be. Nothing disturbing or intrusive. Our next Tahoe visit, we definitely plan to visit and have a heavier brunch here!!!!

Right off the club, any waffle or pancake house that does not have real maple syrup is just hitting par with me! C’mon at least have an up charge with it. The chicken and waffle disappointed, with some sort of chicken tender and a waffle that tasted like a wafer. The pancakes weren’t anything to boast about, either. The Rösti was terrific! The help awesome, the atmosphere is exactly what I am looking for ,with bar seating. The cooks were on their game busting out food left and right. Food flying out the kitchen and staff whisking it away just as fast. A++. The bathroom was clean, parking is tight so be patient and courteous. Keep Tahoe Blue.

On our way home, we stopped for breakfast. My wife had been here years ago. Stepping inside, it feels like a diner from the past. There is plenty of seating with seats at the counter. The servers are very friendly, and they all check to see if you need more coffee or tea, how's it tasting, need anything... I had the burger and onion rings. It was huge, and the onion rings loaded on the plate. My wife had a waffle and enjoyed it. I saw waffles come out with strawberries and whipped cream. We look forward to coming back on our next trip to Tahhoe.

The food here is ok. The pancakes are fluffy, the French toast is generous and tasty. I even liked the coffee. The service left a lot to be desired. Everyone was really nice, but they were busy and we elected to sit outside on a gorgeous day. The hostess sat us and brought us our coffee quickly. Everything went downhill from there. They were late in taking our order, they were late in bringing our food, but they were quick to bring us our bill. I wasn't impressed by the food or the service. But if everything else is busy, it's a good plan C.
