I wish I had known i was going to review this place...since i am from the area..i have seen the prosperous growth of Clayton's over the years... Its not a typical place to wine n dine..it is actually a destination...live local bands play here while we get to enjoy a clear shaded view of our beautiful South Padre Island beaches....the ambience is always cheerful and happy as it is a place of relaxation with subtle entertainment from the bands... Ok...the food...is 3.5 stars...burgers are always fresh and 1/3lb...fast service for sure for the amount of people in place...fish plate i don't recommend..its ok..but injust didn't digbit...and i have tasted way better fast food fish...breading is too hard with almost no flavor...i had an awful aftertaste in my mouth all night after eating the wifes leftover pieces...shes a fish person and she didn't like it...i agreed after i took a bite but i wanted not to waste any of my hard earned money.. Drinks are SUPERB....they really are... So i encourage all out of towbers to visit for the ambience..live music..and great drinks...sitting in front of white sand and emerald green water beaches!! Clayton's..is where its at!! Mike

I've been coming to Clayton's for years, whether on spring break or just a simple weekend, it's a nice place to chill & relax, the last time I came to SPI was 5 years ago and I found that Clayton's now has a pier, that's amazing!. But I have a major complaint, and it's with the prices, because you can't find a single price shown on menus or boards, even in the QR code they put on the tables you only get the menu, but no prices are shown, I don't know if this is an US cultural thing because many restaurants apply this "price hiding", the only prices shown on all the bar were beer cans, 4 dollars for a Budweiser beer or 5 dollars for a Michelob beer, other than that, you have to ask to the bartenders every single time and, most of the time, they're quite busy working. That's my only complaint, show the prices at least on the QR menu code you have on the walls, the fajita nachos are delicious and the ambiance is really nice, on Spring break is a must to watch concerts and meet people.

I came here on 5/8/21 with some friends. We had just left the beach. We were told this was a good place to visit and get food. There was an ample amount of seating. We sat in the pavilion in the shade, lol. It was hot. You have to order at the bar and they give you a pager when your food ready. You get your drinks immediately. Friend 1 and myself got the tsunami drink. We both thought it was very weak and tasted like straight juice and no alcohol. Friend 2 got a pina colada with an extra shot and he didn’t like it. Friend 3 got a virgin drink and they liked it. Friend 2 got jalapeño nachos that was definitely not what was expected. He also got the fried oyster plate. Friend 3 and I got the fisherman’s platter with fish and shrimp. The food was very fresh and fishy tasting. It was odd. Friend 2 didn’t like his food really. Friend 1 got onion rings and chips and salsa. They liked it. Overall, the food was different than Im used too and not a big fan, personally. The drinks were not that good. However, the views of the beach was nice. Would I come back again? Probably not.

If your visiting, this Bar on the beach is a smash hit! It's one of the few bar and grills on the beach and definitely the largest of its kind! They regularly have live music, tether ball, beach volleyball, a large lounging area in the open air deck and plenty of beach front real estate to set up your beach canopies, and set up your beach head for the day to enjoy out in the sun! It serves as a very convenient stay on the beach when hanging out in front of Claytons along the beach. If you get hungry and or thirsty, you have a convenient Bar & Grill to order from. Albeit, be prepared to pay through the nose for that convenience. Prices are a bit steep (I'll knock it a star for its steep prices). However, it's either that or driving over to pick up some food and drink orders from a fast food joint else where, and good look finding your parking space when you do return.... get here early to find a parking space.

DO NOT GO ! Food is absolutely horrible is less than concession stand food at a high school football game. I would absolutely never spend a penny here ever again. I do lots of reviews and this is the worst food I’ve ever had in my life, and this is certainly expensive. Do not buy do not come here at all. look at my past reviews you’ll see I do not give a one star very often. The atmosphere is really good but the food is absolutely horrible. Do not spend your money here. To be clear the food is absolutely horrible. I cannot stress how bad the food is. You can barely choke it down by drowning it in salsa (that’s they charge your for ) and refills on sodas are also charged (which is fine I guess but worth noting ) and both me and my wife got food and both entrees where hard to chock down .

Clayton’s Beach Bar isn’t just a top-notch spot for drinks and good vibes—it’s also home to some of the best sandcastle action you’ll ever see! 🏖️🌊 If you’re lucky enough to visit during Sandcastle Days, you’ll get to witness pro-level sand sculptors create mind-blowing masterpieces right on the beach. These aren’t your average sandcastles—they’re towering works of art that draw crowds from all over. 🏰✨ Along with the incredible beachside drinks and fun atmosphere, the combination of stunning ocean views and jaw-dropping sand sculptures makes Clayton’s a must-visit. Whether you're there for the live music, the sunsets, or to watch the pros work their magic in the sand, Clayton’s Beach Bar offers an unforgettable experience that perfectly captures the spirit of South Padre! 🍹🌅
