Our La Frontera experience was a bit better than the Lil Wayne experience. Perhaps he cheaped out thinking its spring break kids versus semana santa adults?? Anyway, I understand property tax would go up if you paved the parking area, but come on cars stuck & I almost got stuck in the mud. At least this time there was someone letting cars in unlike during lil wayne and stopped once it was at capacity. But of course now you have to pay $20 to park in Clayton's muddy parking area. My boots did not have a good time in the mud dude. Some positives: Frontera came on just before midnight and finished about 1:30am. Good concert. Some feedback: don't place portopotties in a area that blocks the stage. Instead line them up all along the side against the La Quinta area to block off that free show. Dont block us customers that actually paid for the experience. Also, place some chairs out, or for the sake of space bring in some bleachers and place them along the back area to block those people that are standing on the beachside of the stairs. Some bottle service would class it up a bit, but may not be ideal. Also, if you have never been to a baile, then let me just say we want to dance right so a designated area to do that would be👌🏼. Quieremos Comer, beber, divirtirnos y estar comodos, so some tacos, bleachers, more portopotties and no canopies in the middle blocking the stage will improve the overall experience. The wife did the math, if you selling 2-3,000 tickets at $120+ then you are making well above $200k and that doesn't include how much more you are making and would make in Alcohol sales if people weren't scared of not making it in time to use the restroom. Oh but another positive, liquor shots were $5 👍 as were water bottles 👎.
Update: Checking out reviews and there are 1star reviews on here that go as far back as 7years regarding concerts and it all sounds the same. I guess he really doesn't care about customer service and really is all about the money. I'm probably never doing a claytons concert again, since even after 7years all of the feedback...
Read moreI had gone to Clayton’s 3 times during my stay in South Padre, due to the hype this place had surrounding it, which we found out was kind of undeserving. We aren’t locals by any means, matter of fact we live 10 hours north, so social media & ads on the internet were the deciding factors of what we did this trip. The first time we had gone to Clayton’s was for a quick lunch/dinner. I had ordered a cheeseburger for both myself and my boyfriend, so two burgers/fries & a chips and salsa. The staff was short tempered but can you blame them, drunk college kids all day has to be exhausting. The total for that no drinks was $50. It was good for beach food and convenience but not really worth it to eat here if you just need a bite, as it is so pricey. That night we went back for the Steve Aoki concert and they had 1 line open for VIP and GA ticket buyers. The line was OUTRAGEOUS. We stood in line for an hour and a half and missed Steve Aoki coming onstage. The concert itself was amazing and they had VIP and GA separated. Thanks to Steve it was perfect night. I had heard the pre-performances and they were no good. The second night we had gone back and we had tickets for Chris Lake. Again, mixed ticket lines but this time, NO VIP OR GA SEPARATION AFTER WE PAID FOR VIP. People who bought GA we’re bragging and stepping on our toes to squeeze to the front because there was no separation. Not to mention no food or drink from outside and the bar is so expensive. For example, 2 crown shots was $18, $5 beers, etc. The pre-performance for Chris Lake was a drag and after getting there fairly early we were pushed further back and ended up just going to the back because of GA ticket buyers pushing through the crowd of people who bought VIP. Overall summary: OVERPRICED, UNDERSTAFFED, UNORGANIZED,...
Read moreIf you can take your own food and drinks, DO THAT Went to Clayton’s was so excited to try the food this time around, one bartender was obviously in a bad mood, (i ordered my 1st order with her) so (2nd order) I ordered with the next person, after I ordered my food/drinks, on the last order I had my wallet but left my ID in my backpack which was at my table, bartender that was tending me told me I could go get it but the other girl said they were cutting me off, I only had one alc drink before that, and second time I left my ID at my table. I ended up talking to the manager, I told him it wasn’t about the drink, bartender was in a horrible mood the whole time, making drinks taking orders, tone of voice was bad, looked miserable as she’s taking orders that I actually moved lines !! I felt like wtv she was going through she was taking it out on customers, completely ruined my appetite, my food was cold by the time I got back to my table from talking to the manager about her attitude. If you don’t like where you work, it may not be for you, people go places to unwind, trying to eat and relax, not to encounter such rude employees where they are going, completely ruined my appetite to eat and the food actually looked good, & the chefs were nice. I noticed I didn’t have my receipt and let the manager know, nobody got me a copy, at the end manager said what can I do for you I said just get me to go boxes, never brought them, I got them myself, I think the cook knew my order by the number on my buzzer. Reading the reviews it seems like a lot of the employees lack Customer service. 👎🏼 Bartender : Emilia Garza Manager :...
