I wanted so badly to love this place. First and foremost, like a lot of locations in the area, parking is limited. When we got in we noticed the place was small but cute. It had a lot of color and the faces behind the counter were nice. We placed our order. My partner got a avocado, grilled chicken, BLT type of sandwhich on Multigraim bread. I got a grilled chicken on brioche with terayki mayo, LT. My bread was not toasted and was covered in mayo. It had 2 small grilled chicke patties. It was basically impossible to pick up and eat. While my partner only got one breast that did not fully cover the entire piece of bread.. The grilled chicken they searve tasted frozen and underseasoned. The vegetables were fresh on the sandwhich which was a saving grace. Overall my partner liked his sandwhich and gave it a 6 out of 10. My sandwhich was a very messy 4 out of 10.
Maybe next time we would try the other sandwhiches that don't...
Read moreSo delicious! So adorable! I came in with my partner and we split the Jack and the Beanstalk and the Thumbelina and both sandwiches were divine! Hot, fresh, inventive. I could see this place fitting comfortably on the peninsula in Portland. Before I even opened the doors I squealed because I could see how adorable it was inside! We met Ja, the owner, and Indy is actually her 8 year old son, (who I'm told looks just like his cartoon counterpart!) Indy's name is lovingly tiled into the open kitchen wall partition and his cartoon face adorns every sandwich toothpick! As we were leaving, the cashier was stamping to-go bags with a personalized stamp. Talk about attention to detail! Ja's husband homemakes the pepper jelly that adorns the Jack and the Beanstalk sandwich, and boy is it delicious! It was my favorite of the two, but my husband preferred Thumbelina! Can't go wrong! I cannot wait to get back to this...
Read moreWow! First off, as someone who avoids gluten and dairy, this place does it right. I ordered the Tam and Cam with GF bread, and my husband got the Lion and the Mouse. We were both blown away! I rarely order sandwiches because GF bread is often an afterthought and is dry and crumbly, but this bread tasted like the real deal. The spicy kick on the Tam and Cam (a pressed Bahn mi) was perfect. We also got drinks, I got the nitro cold brew Thai iced tea which was divine, and my husband got the Vietnamese iced coffee. (Too sweet for me but I think that’s the point!)
We ordered online which was a seamless process. The staff at the counter were so friendly and I loved the decor of the space. Also love how they sell local healthy treats (like Dellie bars!)
Everything down to the branded paper the sandwiches were wrapped in impressed us. This will definitely be a go-to lunch spot - we can’t wait to try more...
