Johnny Rockets — Restaurant in South Portland

If I could give this location a 0, I most definitely would. I witnessed the most unprofessional act ever. The other day a man was waiting in line behind a couple until I was his turn to order food. To my amazement the cashier showed no professionalism when presenting himself with a positive approach. The cashier looked as though he didn't understand what the man was saying even though the man was patient with the cashier. Afterwards he stood patiently waiting for his food. What happened next was sheer horror. My oldest daughter works restaurant and she told me how strict cleanliness is within their restaurant. But this wasn't the case at Johnny Rockets here in the Maine Mall. What I witnessed was the cook asking for assistance from one of the crew members. The crew member came over with a ladder to help remove the vents above the stove where there was still food on it. Then it seemed as though the employee was having trouble so the cook reached over to hold the vents on the ladder. What made me sick to my stomach was the fact that neither of them changed their gloves after. I saw the man get up off his seat and ask for a refund and everything went down south from there. I hear a lot of "why" and excuses for the employees actions. I heard the cook tell the man "it's the same grease that is in the food, it's ok." I never come to the mall and I live in the Portland area. So this is without a doubt the worst thing I've ever witnessed. They should shut this place down or if anything fire the cook and find someone more...

Loved this place as it was one of my favorites to get food inside the mall, unfortunately the last few times I've gone every burger we've gotten has been almost raw. The food quality is disgusting now. Until they check or start cooking until their food is fully cooked I will be avoiding this place. Very disappointing and was hoping this was a fluke but every order now comes very red almost raw. Ordered two doubles and one single for the group and out of all of that only one patty from one double was cooked. I paid $5.49 for a medium sized milkshake that was extremely thin. Not only that but I waited for an unusual length of time compared with most other fast food places. They asked me for my name just like they do at the pizza places and a milk shake should be served within seconds, not minutes and they should wait on one customer at a time. I watched them fix several milkshakes and it was very similar to they way people fix milkshakes at home. Less than a one-minute walk from them, they serve huge and thick milkshakes for less money and they have them out within seconds and wait on one customer at a time and thier line moves much faster.
