Authentic Latin Experience at Batista Food & Grill: A Must-Try in South Salt Lake
I can't stop coming to Batista Food & Grill! As a Costa Rican, I was thrilled to find such an authentic Cuban/Nicaraguan restaurant in South Salt Lake. This family-owned gem offers a truly unique experience of Latin cuisine that you won't find anywhere else in the city.
Their gallo pinto dish is a must-try, with mixed seasoned red beans and rice, grilled beef with caramelized onions, and ripe fried plantain. It's so delicious, I can't get enough of it! Whether you're in the mood for lunch or dinner, this place is perfect for gathering with friends and family.
Not only is the food amazing, but the service is outstanding too. Don't forget to leave a tip for the hardworking staff who make your dining experience unforgettable.

I ordered off Uber eats. They had a BOGO promo and we opted for two Cuban sandwiches. We selected fried cheese as the side. I’d seen pictures of that side online and it was one of the main reasons I chose to order here. The order was ready quickly.
The space is small and simple but has room for several dine-in tables. They offer a medium-sized menu with authentic dishes. The staff were friendly.
Portions were good on the sandwiches. The Cubans were delicious! Great meats and good bread. Unfortunately, they gave us the wrong sides. We had fries…which were frankly terrible. They reminded me of elementary school cafeteria fries. Fix your fry game or at least get the sides right next time! I do plan on ordering again, but I’ll check my order next time upon pickup. With so much competition, it’s important that kitchens are sending out the...
