I was introduced to this super restaurant. With the name"David's Kitchen," you might just drive by not knowing this is the best Chinese food restaurant period anywhere. Even China itself. I could tell all the food served to me was literally prepared right before it was set before me. The food was so fresh. Texture and flavor of everything was perfect. The server helped me when I told her I didn't like plain rice. I told her when I eat plain rice, it has no flavor. She made suggestions to help my rice taste great. Then made sure that happened. By the way, the rice was light and fluffy. I've been to Chinese restaurants where the "scoop" of plain rice on my plate was in a ball because the rice was all stuck together. Rice shouldn't come in the form of a "baseball." David's Kitchen served their rice in a bowl. Perfect. This restaurant is like so many in the Salt Lake area. It's just is special because the owner and all employees care to make it that way. There are so many things that are right about this restaurant discovery. Please know I am 62 years old. Trust me. I've had plenty of time and experience to try several, I mean lots of Chinese restaurants around the country. This one by far is the best. People, treat yourself to a visit at "David's Kitchen." Stay away from those restaurants that just serve heated food from their freezer. I really can't say. But, I bet there's a high chance "David's Kitchen" probably doesn't even have a food freezer. Their food tastes that fresh. They will have my business for the rest of my life. And I'm definitely spreading the word. Thanks "David's Kitchen" for opening my eyes and treating my taste buds. You made my day!! PS. The best cream cheese wontons...

Update... my previous review was from 5 years ago. It breaks my heart to update this review. We went here tonight... and was just shocked and hurt. We've been coming here faithfully for 6+ years. Always phenomenal. We usual get the same thing. Sesame chicken, orange chicken, Ham fried rice, 2 orders of pot stickers, and 1 cup of Egg drop soup. It's been $50 bucks + tip every single time. Last time we went here, about 7 months ago, the bill was $53 + tip. We just went tonight, got the same thing, and the bill was $84 before the tip!!!!???? No... no, I'm sorry. It's not worth that. We won't be back, and it was a Friday night at 6pm. It's usually packed, and it wasn't. We were one of 5 total groups. No one is coming back. I get inflation... but their prices were already steep. I was happy to pay it, because it was AMAZING food. But $30 more for the same thing, less than a year later. Yeah, not worth it. It hurts my soul... I'll miss this place. It won't be long before it's out of business. Sad...

Oh my goodness, this place has the best Chinese food of anywhere! It's obviously pricy, but definitely worth it and on par to other, less delicious Chinese restaurants. I can't say enough good things about this place! I recommend the Orange chicken, and you definitely need to try the AMAZING pot stickers! The service isn't the most friendly, but it's about what you'd expect from an authentic Chinese restaurant serving Americans... They're are very short tempered and offstandish/cold shoulderish. But you hardly notice because the...

We were looking for a new Chinese food place. I read a lot of the reviews before we went and was very optimistic. First off we did not order potstickers...and apparently they are known for them. So I can't comment on that. We ordered the dinner for 2. We got cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, 2 (small) egg rolls and fried rice. We asked for pork fried rice instead of ham and they accommodated us but charged us $2 more for it. Ok not a big deal we were happy they did it. The food came and the portions were really small. How was the food? Mediocore at best. The eggrolls we're good but small. They cashew chicken was just ok not the worst I've had but certainly not the best. We didn't care for the sweet and sour sauce but the chicken was good. The pork fried rice on the other hand was not good at all. The rice was dry, they used regular pork pieces rather than the red Chinese BBQ pork. It had peas and carrots but had a TON of peas. I mean so many we pulled them out and put them in a pile. It was just not good fried rice at all. We ate the eggrolls, most of the cashew chicken and all of the s&s chicken. We had a few bites of the fried rice but didn't bother taking the rest home. All in all we spent over $30 and honestly I was not even that full. Will we go back? Probably not. However, this is my opinion and just because we didn't care for it doesn't mean you will too. Give it a try and judge...

The menu is outdated and seriously lacking. There are two options, lunch specials or if you get there too late for that, la carte. When asked why the entrees don't come with the standard soup, fried rice, etc. We were told that it is family style dining and all à la carte so everything would have to be ordered separately. The food itself was just okay at best about the equivalent of what you would find at a buffet. The The lack of lighting in the restaurant is to mask how many tables are in that small space. Walking in, the theme is Oriental, but it has a worn out 1980's feel. If you're in the neighborhood already it's an okay place to stop, but definitely not worth the drive to try it out.

We decided to try David’s Kitchen after so many recommendations from friends, and the food did not disappoint. The potstickers were as good as we were told, and the Sweet and Sour Chicken and Cashew Chicken were delectable, although there wasn’t very much chicken in the Cashew Chicken dish. The service wasn’t too great, and we had to sit for nearly 15 minutes with empty plates to get our check, and never got refills on our drinks. UPDATE 2023: We ate at David’s Kitchen again on a Saturday evening right when they opened, and unlike the previous visit, the service was fantastic. The food was wonderful as always, especially the potstickers.

This has been a family favorite for years. We love starting out a meal with their famous potstickers and table-made dipping sauce. They have great lunch specials but some of our favorites aren’t on that menu. So, if you’re out with a few people and want to look at sharing a couple of different entrees I would suggest, Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Sweet and Sour Chicken (my wife’s favorite), and some Green Bean/Asparagus Pork with the Black Bean sauce (my favorite), and some House Fried Rice to top it off.
