Okay this is going to be a rather lengthy but informative review. As a southern peach straight from the deep South in the heart of Georgia, I can tell you that I speak from experience. When I walked in the vibe was like I was back at home. I kind of started feeling like a little less homesick. I must admit I didn't have too high expectations over the food being that I was north of the Mason-Dixon line. I've had previous not so pleasant experiences. I was NOT READY for what was about to happen!
First, let's address the atmosphere. The decorations on the wall really screamed welcome to the country. I loved it as stated it made me feel like home. Tables were nice and big. Ready to feed a family just like home. It was clean. I cannot express to you how grateful I am to walk into a restaurant in New Jersey and see that level of cleanliness. I was not afraid to use that bathroom. Definitely five stars well deserved. Next up is the food. As stated, being a southern peach from Georgia smoke is kind of in my blood. I consider myself a little bit of a snob when it comes to some pulled pork or as we like to call it in the Deep South some butt. It was so good. Moist tender juicy. Definitely full of flavor. The ribs fall off the bones. Smack your mama good. And my family in Texas would very much love to have some of that brisket because I can tell you it was jucyyyyy. Yes, I think I sampled everything on the menu again. Very well worth all five stars. And as a bonus the pastrami it left me speechless.... Definitely his mic drop moment! Lastly, the service! It goes without saying 10 out of 10.
I will definitely go back to visit this place again and again and again. Harry definitely knows barbecue. He definitely knows smoke and this Georgia peach...
Read moreI get it, food and employee costs have skyrocketed but $65 for 3 sub par sandwiches and 3 sides, 2 of which I cook in my air fryer better is too much. All of which were standard issue US Foods frozen product. The sandwiches were all dry and unimpressive. Nothing stood out to make me want to come back. The best part was looking at the first responder patches while I was waiting for my food. Sad since I went there since the place had such good reviews.
Edit. Since my review I was contacted by an employee who told me that the boss flipped out on him for putting out subpar food. Well, its not his fault, he can only do so much with subpar recipies and product. To the owner who responded to my review, yes I have worked In the industry for many years but not for a competitor trying to harm you like you insinuate. The reason why I went to Google instead of speaking to you is I know that talking to you would do nothing by the way you berate and insult people who leave negative reviews as you did with me. I simply wanted to inform the people not to waste their hard earned money on over priced food that is generically purchased and way...
Read moreOk. So I forgot to bring in the phone for photos and we ate the food too fast to care…. We always walk into a bbq place with hesitation because most places advertise more than they can deliver. It’s lost in a shopping center strip mall so don’t miss it! The smell is very welcoming when you walk in. Cute decor and clean dining area. The young lady at counter was polite and got our order correct. A bbq pulled pork sandwich and a brisket sandwich. Done right a toasted BIG bun. The pork was filled with flavor and the bbq sauce was tangy and sweet. Finally a proper amount of meat in a sandwich! The brisket was very good. Trimmed but still had the right amount of fat that brisket should have Came with a little unusual sauce mixed bbq and mustard. Wasn’t sure if I’d like it but it was mysteriously well done! We will be back for more menu items as this was a real deal bbq place. Most excellent and I will remember the photos next time. But trust me. They looked just as good as...
