Recently heard a Hala food restaurant opened in Allentown PA in the Giant mall at Tilghman and cedar Crest . They are in the same building where Outback was once located up on the hill across from Giant. We Originally are from New York City and Hala food is always available from the city's street vendors. So today we decided to try this place out! As I entered there are a few tables to sit at and eat, but I was ordering food to go. Because that is the. Way Hala food has always been to me great food to take home. We were quickly greeted by a very sweet lady . She asked if we had been here before Nope I told her . Just heard that you were here! 😁. We said we are hoping this is good. We love Chicken, rice, and salad with extra white sauce and barbecue sauce. The woman asked me if I would like to try the meat first okay okay I tried a sample of the chicken! It was good but just had a very slight heat to it so I asked to sample the lamb. That was wonderful. So I ordered a combo platter with extra white sauce and extra barbecue sauce on it i have found the mixture of the meat and extra sauces wilk tame down the slight heat that the chicken has. Making the platter delicious. Just like new York city's Hala food vendor. This combo platter meal was enough to feed two people perfectly. 💜 I also ordered a piece of their Blalskava. which is a delicious Honey Nut cake. Another thing New Yorkers know about. If you go here purchase a container. Even if you eat it for breakfast with your coffee or tea. Honey Nut cakes are good. If you are allergic to nuts stay clear of this treat.! 😊 I Haven't eaten this honey cake yet I am saving it for tomorrow's breakfast . I'm betting it's going to be just as tasty as the combo platter was. 😋. This business is a breath of fresh air to the Allentown PA area. I know I will be eating here again. A+++business The food was delicious, the people at the front counter were very cherry and attentive in what a person wants on their platter. . They make customers feel very comfortable and welcomed. 😁 💜 😋 On a scale of one to ten I give this new business an Eleven. This business operations hours some nights are to two or three AM. I am adding photos of their business flyer menu. It is simple , tasty simple food. Not over...
Read moreI’m sorry but as we speak I am trying to stomach this food. I ordered online at 5:30 for a pick up of 6:00-6:10. At 6:10 the online tracking said my food was ready for pick up. I head inside the place is empty/dead and my food is not ready. Only when I announce myself is my food prepared. Sort of makes online ordering pretty pointless.as I’m waiting I can hear the grill cook constantly mouthing off words of profanity. Also I see another customer walk in and shortly walk out after standing there and never being acknowledged by any of the staff. As my food is being prepared I’m screwing around on my phone because I didn’t think I would be able waiting for an order that should have already been prepared. Unbeknownst to me my order was prepared but no one thought to tell me with a whole three people in the establishment. So i grabbed my food at 6:30 and walked out. Half way thru my drive home I get a text message that my order is ready for pick up. I don’t really do many reviews unless the service was very good or VERY bad. I’m sorry but this case was bad.. I don’t know if falafels are supppse to be dry and hard and shaped like hockey pucks but if they are then these are the best falafels I’ve ever had. Then again they are the only falafel...
Read moreThis is a 2nd try at this place. See my original review below. Again, quality issue with their chicken. And again, pay for a 20oz bottle of soda and received a 12oz can. Chicken was either some raw pieces or poor quality fat cut pieces. Business refuses to make it right after I reached out direct phone call. Their response was the same to me on my original 1st bad experience. They apologized for ripping me off on sodas again and told me to try and buy more food from them to try again. What is this? A carnival game? Keep playing till I win? I highly suggest not to do business with this specific establishment.
ORIGINAL REVIEW from a few months back below----- A not so great first experience. Granted, this was uBerEATS but that had nothing to do with it really. Cheesesteak wasn't that bad but for the cost, a little too much for too little. The Chicken Platter, every single piece of chicken I had cut up had about 1/2 fat on it. While its natural, I wouldn't think all the meat would be like that. The serving size of the protein seemed rather small compared to elsewhere I have been. Lastly, ordered 2 20oz sodas and was given cans. Best was the Pakora Chips I think they are called. I think I will be sticking with the other place I have...
