I came with my family for breakfast for the first time. There was a quite a wait, despite the fact that we got a table that was clean and vacant the entire time. We sort of had 2 waitresses. This was confusing. We figured one was the coffee girl but that wasn't the case. They were nice but we never got our waters. And we waited forever to get a coffee refill and was passed up by one of the girls who walked right by us. Side note: my coffee had grounds in it. I got the chicken fried steak, which was really good. But small compared to most places. It would typically get country gravy not sausage gravy, so that was weird. The home fries were just hard deep fried potatoes. The biscuit was more than just buttery. It was downright greasy. The over medium eggs were broken and hard cooked. My pancake was so cold it didn't melt the margarine (not butter), and it was so rubbery I couldn't cut it with a knife and fork. Two people got the french toast, which was tough to cut through as well. But only one person received syrup. My husband asked for corned beef hash and it was from a can!!! He also asked for cheddar cheese grits, and when he received them there was an onion in them which meant it was cross contaminated from another customer's dish because no one ordered cooked yellow onion in our party. And the cheese on top of them was a dumb slice of kraft instead of shredded cheddar. Super weird. Honestly, you need more staff and better fry cooks. I would consider going back if a friend for some ungodly reason would ask me. But seeing as if we have so many good breakfast places in our area, it definitely wouldn't even be a contender to go here again. Please do better and hire some people. P.S. How is a breakfast sandwich with no sides $8? Way...
Read moreDining out is often a cherished experience, a chance to relax, enjoy good food, and connect with loved ones. Unfortunately, a recent visit to The Buttery Biscuit turned into a frustrating and disappointing affair, highlighting what appears to be a significant problem with both service and management.
We arrived at the restaurant anticipating a pleasant lunch. However, our expectations quickly soured as we were seated and then seemingly forgotten. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty â only two other tables were occupied as it approached its 2 pm closing time â we were left to sit for a full 20 minutes without even so much as a greeting.
During this extended wait, our waitress was clearly visible at the bar, engaged in lengthy conversations with other customers, as was the manager. Both appeared completely uninterested in acknowledging our presence, much less taking our order. The lack of attention was baffling, especially considering the lack of other patrons demanding their attention.
The situation became almost comical when, after what felt like an eternity, the waitress looked directly at us from across the room and then promptly disappeared into the kitchen, as if actively avoiding serving us. At this point, we had simply had enough.
Disheartened and feeling completely ignored, we decided to leave. As I walked towards the door, I approached the manager, hoping to understand the reason for the blatant disregard. Instead of offering an apology or attempting to rectify the situation, her response was a dismissive and condescending "Have a nice day." This response, devoid of any genuine concern or willingness to help, solidified our disappointment.
The entire experience left us feeling unwelcome and...
Read moreFood was four star, service was maybe two if being generous. Me and my fiancĂ© had stopped here for brunch while passing through town. We walked into the foyer to a sign that said âwait to be seatedâ, so we did... for a good 20 minutes. More than half the place was empty, and three servers made eye contact with us and walked away. Three more couples came in, and sat beside us. After a while, a pair of regulars (Iâm assuming) came in, walked passed the waiting area and were warmly and promptly greeted. The regulars wouldâve been sat immediately if they hadnât said âthey (us) were here firstâ. After me and my fiancĂ© were sat, the regulars were sat even though they AGAIN pointed out they had just walked in. The server/hosts response? Verbatim: âThey can be patient, weâre getting them all sat eventuallyâ ... The server/host, named Beverly, had four tables to serve, which is pretty average for a restaurant, but was huffing and agitated as if the customers were in the wrong for simply being there. After a good 10 minutes of being at the table our server walked up and said âwhat do you want to drink?â. No âhi how are youâ or âhi Iâm beverly Iâll be your serverâ. We never were offered refills on our drinks and she was only over to the table three other times (once to ask âwhat do you want to eatâ, once to give us the food, and once to give us the bill and ask if everything tasted good) We understand she is only human and may have been having a bad day, but if youâre in THAT bad of a mood for having to do your job, call off. Just, completely cold with zero personality, and almost insulting customer service skills. Was...
