We stayed here in Dec 2024 and had a good experience. NOT THIS TIME! Three different days we called the front desk for People Yelling and slamming doors, also for marijuana smoking next to us. This is "a smoke free" hotel, Nothing was ever done. But, it gets better! We were swimming with the Grandkids having fun, because the pool was empty. Shortly after other people arrived. Our 9 yr old Grandson decided to dive in the deep end. A woman jumps out of Her chair and starts yelling at Him "you cant do that". I asked the Woman if I could help Her. She keeps yelling "He cant do that". I told Her He is ok and He is not hurting anyone. Why this woman thinks She could yell at Our Grandson, was mind blowing. I asked Her "Who are you to yell at our Grandson?" She said "she was an employee of the Hotel." Instead of yelling at a Guest/Child, She should have came to an Adult, identified Herself and addressed Her concerns. So, as this unidentified employee is yelling She walks towards us. I kept telling Her, He was OK and not hurting anyone. As She approaches us She states " jumping is not allowed." That was not the case. Diving was not recommended. Anytime people swim at pools, you assume the risks. He is 9 yrs old and 64 lbs, we were not worried about him. So as She approaches us She says "I will get my Manager." I said "OK." As She walks away we heard her say " This is (bad words) ridiculous." Our Grandkids also heard Her bad language. Apparently this "Employee" was with another Female employee and the Female had two small children with Her. The two Employees started to argue and left the pool. 15 minutes later the Employees returned to the pool with another Employee, Who was dressed for work and had a name tag. All the employees sat and stared at us, so I stared back. Do you think the woman on DUTY would talk to us, NOPE! After 15 minutes of staring, She left the pool. About 5 minutes after that two more employees arrived at the pool, with family/friends. We didnt realize it was "Employee only swim day." The first woman, that was doing all the cursing and yelling, started smoking/vaping in the pool area. ITS A SMOKE FREE Hotel!! Her and all the employees also had food and drinks at the pool, this was against the POSTED Rules! My family felt very uncomfortable, so we left the pool. We stayed here for 8 days. This happened on day 6. If this was within the first 4 days, We would have moved to another hotel. One good note. There is a young female employee with Red Hair, Very nice person! WE also had an interaction with Heidi (GM), regarding the pancake machine that was not working for 3 days. Heidi fixed the issue in one day. Apparently, She didnt know it was broken. As far as we are concerned, It's the Staff that is BROKEN! Almost forgot. This location can not afford a free bottle of water for...
Read moreThe Holiday Inn Express is physically attached to the Holiday Inn. Basically, they're one hotel with two wings and each wing operating under a different brand.||||Despite basically being the same hotel, rates are cheaper. That's why I booked the Holiday Inn Express. ||||I think I found the reasons why the Holiday Inn Express is cheaper.||||My room wasn't clean. It featured hair on the toilet, hair on the vanity and sink area, mold or mildew in the walk-in shower, and a stained sofa (use your imagination). A manager was apologetic about the room cleanliness issues and moved me to a new room. Supposedly, he was crediting my account with "extra" points for the issue. But I have yet to see any points.||||Hallways were dirty and not vacuumed once over at least 24 hours. ||||More troubling is the lack of guest security measures. Doors leading to the parking lot and other areas outside the hotel were propped open with stones and door stops, allowing ANYONE from the outside access to the hotel without going through the lobby and past the front desk. That is very dangerous and unsafe. That might explain a couple of the cars that seemed to loiter in the parking lot for prolonged periods of time when I stayed. It definitely makes you wonder. ||||Breakfast, like at all Holiday Inn Expresses, was free for all guests. Since the hotel is basically the same hotel as the Holiday Inn you can actually book a room at the Holiday Inn, where breakfast isn't free, and eat for free at the Holiday Inn Express. I saw several guests grab a carry-out breakfast and walk right into the Holiday Inn with it. ||||The breakfast itself was a disaster. I saw little kids touch items on the food buffet and then put them back. Tongs to retrieve the items were placed on the countertop or were hung from the handle of the chafing dish. Other items they were left on top of the food. That is not sanitary. Cutlery wasn't wrapped. One adult coughed and sneezed and then reached into the bowl with the plastic forks, touching multiple forks. I had an upset stomach and diarrhea for 24 hours after eating the food.||||As an IHG Diamond, I asked for a late check-out. Diamonds are supposed to receive a 2 pm late check-out. The front desk told me the latest I could have was 12:30 pm because "housekeepers needed to flip the rooms." I pushed back and was eventually given 1 pm.||||All things considered, I would not stay here again. The lack of cleanliness, the guest safety and security, and the breakfast issues are too much to overlook. The poor IHG elite recognition is also disappointing. They want IHG customers but don't want to provide any of...
Read moreWe stayed three nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. My husband, who made the reservation, is gold status. For the most part, we were very satisfied with our stay. Check in was smooth and pleasant. The only drawback was that the hotel was quite empty, and yet, they did not offer a complimentary upgrade, which as we understand it, is a possible benefit for gold status. The bed was comfortable, and I loved the sheets! Husband always requests that down feather pillows and blankets be removed, but there were still two feather pillows on the bed. We bring our own pillows, but still, it’d be nice if they weren’t there as my husband is allergic. The shower was just okay. Good water pressure, but the door isn’t water tight. So a fair amount of water ended up on the floor and soaked the bath mat. The supplied shampoo, conditioner, and gel are nice; however, the bottle of conditioner was almost empty. The two small towels provided were not enough for two people. We stayed a Thursday - Sunday. I requested extra towels, another bath mat, and conditioner for the room on Friday afternoon. We still hadn’t received them when we checked out on Sunday. Thankfully, we met Desire, one of the housekeepers, on our way to breakfast Sunday morning, and she was able to spare two towels from her cart. She was very kind! Breakfast was decent hotel fare. We really enjoyed the pancakes and bacon! Charlotte and Kay who manage the breakfast did an excellent job of keeping everything well stocked and clean. They’re friendly demeanor and hard work ethics made breakfast quite enjoyable! Watching Charlotte persevere in mopping the floor with a defective mop was admirable, but it made me sad that she had to do that. The mop head fell out three times in the five minutes we were there! The indoor pool was large, but I didn’t find it pleasant as it was just a little too cold. It serves both the regular Holiday Inn and the Express; so I’m guessing if the hotels are full, it would not be a very enjoyable experience. Overall, we would probably stay here again for the convenience of location, the comfort of the room, and the quality of breakfast. If we were looking for a little more luxury, we would...
