It was the worst birthday ever!!!! I purchased tickets to see Joe Torry at the Punchline Comedy Lounge on December 22nd with my Cash App card ($160 for the tickets and $40 for the service fee, total $200) to see Joe Torry for my birthday (December 30th). I managed to get 7 of my family members to go with me. I didn't see a confirmation number so I called the number that was on the maps and the man (who I found out his name was Dre) told me to just come up there and he would give me my ticket at the door. So I ran around all that day getting my nails done and other things while I called my family to make sure that they were going to be there by 7 (the doors open at 7). We got there at 6:50 so we could get good seats, when we arrive there, it was only 3 ladies there before us so my mother and my daughters went into the Punchline restaurant and my brother treated them to some food. As me and my other brother waited at the main door for someone to arrive. A man came and opened the door to the Lounge and the other ladies went in. I showed the doorman my cash app which said, Punchline Comedy Lounge $200 paid. The Man looked puzzled and went to the back of the lounge to ask about my payment. When he came back he told me that this was called, Poetry and Punchline and I had been scammed. I immediately started crying and he never once asked my name or tried to look it up. My brother and my companion came up with another $160 and paid at the door. I was completely devastated. So after we got in the doorman said that all our drinks and food were free for the night. Not!!!! We had a total of 6 drinks, no food because they brought us the wrong food. And then the hostesses started acting really nasty (after being sympathetic to the situation) because we weren't tipping. I tried to enjoy myself but things just kept getting worse. The doorman took me to the side and said that they were only going to pay $40 for me for food and drinks (after one of the hostesses said that our food and drinks were on the house) when he said that I told him what the hostess told me so when he called her to us she started that our food and drinks were covered for $160 (the amount my we paid at the door). The bottom line is I had a really rotten time here and Joe Torry took a shot at the birthday girl. This was a total nightmare and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I asked Cash App for my money back and it said that Punchline fulfilled their obligation for the goods/services associated with this transaction which is a total lie. We spent over $450 @ the Punchline Comedy Lounge and We ALL GOT PUNCHED and that is no...

I paid for 4 premium seats and it was a high table in the back of the main floor. I expected to be towards the front for the price I paid. The second area is a type of open room with potentially obstructed views. The place reminds you of a basement. Not sure why this concept was designed. There is a "VIP" section on the stage that are 2 sets of couch like seating for 2 people each. I did not see a table for VIPs to sit their drinks or food. Perhaps eating is not allowed in this area?
My table ordered 2 lamb chops, shrimp and chicken tenders and was told the chops came with fries. After almost an hour and several inquiries the tenders arrived. Later the chops arrived with a veggie type stir fry. After a few rounds a questioning we were told the waitress that took our order was new. Everyone at the table had to tell the lady what we were told about the fries. She eventually decided to bring out 1 tiny basket of fries. We should have received 2 baskets. I have no complaints about the food taste. Service is just sloooow as we did not receive any food until well after the headliner begun.
The comedians had to keep telling the crowd to tone down with the side conversations as 2 groups were too loud. It was quite unfortunate as they expressed how they were trying to support a black business. People were video taping and could not understand why taping was not allowed. The show appeared to have ended early out of frustration. My group was disappointed as I had hoped for an enjoyable for hours with a few moms.
Suggestions: Announcements on establishment rules at the beginning and midway through the show. Staff customer service training. Servers should have cheat sheets on what accompanies each meal. Improve your methods for crowd control.
For now my preference would be to drive to another establishment in Ohio when I have an outing with my friends. I may try this place again in...

Other than that‚ the venue is horrible — inside of Punchline is extremely small‚ seats are way too close together. You definitely get that hole in the wall/basement type feel. There is no room for the comedians and hosts/hostess to walk by — you’re literally touching other people just to grab a seat. It’s a shame that folks have to pay extra $$$ just to be seated comfortably there.
And management tried to pull a devious move on my guest and I by telling us the “premium seating” that we paid $50/person for in advance were not for premium seats close to the “stage” — but for the tight seating in the back by the bar.
The management there is the worst that I have ever seen. He talked extremely negatively about one of the hostees who works there — right in front of us! Very distasteful — especially when the hostees politely asked the manager/owner a simple question.
The food and drinks are not worth the price nor your time waiting for them throughout the whole show. We ordered our food within 2 minutes after being seated — the hostees didn’t return back with our order until 10-12 minutes prior to the end of the show. Very slow service to say we are forced to purchase a 2-item minimum.
Punchline Comedy Lounge could definitely use some room for improvement. Until then‚ I will no longer be...
