I consider myself somewhat in the know of bubble tea and wanted to start posting my reviews of places I have visited that sell bubble tea.
Bubble Tea: All of their bubble tea is made from flavored powders. I tried the Kumquat Lemon Honey Tea (added basil seeds as they were out of aloe vera) and Neon Fruit Tea. The Neon Fruit Tea was extremely sweet and tasted ok. The Kumquat Lemon Honey Tea was ok and kind of bland, I did not taste any honey. My friend purchased the Japanese Matcha Milk Tea which did not taste like a premium matcha, the boba was good. I had originally wanted to try the Lavender Lemon Green Tea and was informed they discontinued the drink because their supplier did not have the lavendar and they did not know if they would ever stock it again. This along with not having aloe vera boba kind of bummed me out but, I moved on and tried something else =).
The bubble tea is more of a side business for this Thai restaurant (which is named Somewhere in Bangkok). I guess the price point is what should be expected from a place that uses powders to make their teas. The people working there were very nice and the front waiting area looked clean and pleasant. Parking is kind of strange as the lot is part of a car sales lot.
Unless we're in the area and craving a tea, we will more than likely not visit again; we traveled about an hour from home to try...
Read moreIf I can leave zero stars I would! I had a 3:06 pick up time with an order placed online 20 minutes before that. I already paid and placed a tip when I made the order online. They were making drinks for people walking in before my order! After standing and asking for my order a couple times finally at 330pm I asked for a refund if they were not working on my order. The girl said no problem and would refund me. Let's hope the refund goes through. Disorganized business. They should not offer online orders if they do not know or have the staff to execute them correctly. We are foodies in CT and little do they know they not only lost alot of potential drink but food business as well. I can only imagine how the kitchen is if the front end is this...
Read moreI do very much enjoy Thai food ever since I went to Thailand and I try to eat it a few times a month. I had driven by this place several times and never stopped until yesterday. I ordered my standby meal which makes it easy for me to compare restaurant to restaurant, the tom yum soup had no flavor at all and the pad thai was missing something I could not put my finger on. The shrimp in both we're older previously frozen shrimp, I know that from the taste and texture. Their pricing is on the higher side so I was expecting fresher and higher quality food but was disappointed. I...
