Starting off my weekend at Gobi Mongolian Grill (Southington, CT📍) and y’all this is the place to be! This Asian Fusion / build-your-own-stir-fry AYCE restaurant is TOP NOTCH and is a staple in our out to eat rotation. All the different options, especially the sauces, has a bitch excited, especially that banana pudding hoe💅🏼! There was a point where my boyfriend and I were coming 3-4 days week…judgement free zone hoe! I love you Gobi🤍 #gobi #gobimongoliangrill #mongolian #ayce #hibachi #buffet #stirfry #asianfusion #bananapudding #southington #southingtonct #ctfoodie #cteats

The food is excellent! The fact that you choose your own ingredients makes makes sure you only get what you want. Some advice: 1) skip the salad bar. Though it is very fresh, it's not really why you came here, right? 2) despite the way the buffet is organized start with putting your proteins on your plate first. This is usually the last thing you get, but if you pile your plate high with veggies, the proteins will just slide off. If you get them first, as they are flat, you can put veggies on top easily. 3) don't be shy about piling stuff on your plate. It will cook down, and the serving plate the put your food on at the end is much bigger. 4) mix sauces! The sauces are all pretty good on their own, but the flavors you can get from combining them can be even better. 5) bring your kids. Children's prices are reasonable, and the fact that they choose their own mix of ingredients AND get to watch someone cook them is a win-win situation. My five year old was entranced, and ate everything on her plate. She isn't a really picky eater, but getting her to finish her food can be a challenge. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for something that is a little out of the ordinary, but with familiar flavors.

Took my son out to lunch and was not all that happy. On their Facebook page they advertise their pricing and lunch time to be one thing, where as when we got there the pricing and the lunch times were different. I can understand the pricing going up, especially with COVID. However if a customer is there before the change of lunch to dinner the customer shouldn't have to ask for their bill to be adjusted accordingly. They knew we got there before lunch was over. We only ate lunch size portions even... As we were there FOR LUNCH. The bill was initially nearly $40 for two adult dinners and a soda. I ended up having to ask for a manager. Manager just kept repeating herself. I tried explaining that it says differently on their Facebook page and she informed me " we don't have a Facebook page" yet there's one up there. I did instruct her to contact Facebook to have it taken down as it misrepresents the business. Doubt that will happen... But she did finally honor the lunch pricing after a much too long discussion. I had, Lo Mein noodles with beef, broccoli and pineapple topped with teriyaki sauce and my son had similar. The food was good... Certainly not dinner price worthy so if I were to return it would only be for lunch. Worth a try and definitely fun for the kids!

Gobi was awesome. I went for a first time for my birthday and we had a great time. The cooks were so prompt and made sure everything was nice cooked. They give a nice show while cooking the food on the big grill in the middle of the restaurant. The prices were just right. I think there is a bigger menu with a little more variety of fish when you go after a certain time so the prices go up too but I'm sure it's worth it. They had rows of food from raw eggs and veggies to seafood and meats. If you want to go vegetarian or meat you have the best of both worlds. There was ice cream and toppings and they had salads and fruit and pudding it was a good time. They just don't have egg rolls there only spring rolls and it's not worth ordering. White rice is free but fried rice is extra cash. I don't think it's worth it. It was bland. The spring rolls were greasy and tiny. The drinks were a good size and free refills. The waitress was mostly attentive you can bring home food in a doggy bag but have to pay per pound so it's a crazy amount. But lunch was good overall. The parking is plentiful and other stores are next door so you can shop by walking after you eat or before.

First experience with a place like this, and didn't know what to expect. We weren't really told what to do once seated, and we were left a little confused with the lacking menu, but made our way to explore, walked to the grill and we're directed to the buffet setup. Load your plate, choose a sauce, bring it to the grill, they cook while you wait, adding the sauce near the end. The meat selection is flash frozen and looks a bit odd in the buffet as little discs, but it does come out good once cooked. This place is good for trying random things, random sauces, easy to be wasteful if you choose a sauce you don't end up liking, so don't overload your plate, you can go back for round 2, 3, 4... Pricing was fair, kids under 2 are free. Interesting experience. It could have been improved by some initial direction by staff, we actually wanted things from their menu as well, but rarely saw our table server, so skipped it, and fried rice is only available from a server. Dessert options seemed to taste a little off to all of us. We'll try again, and I'll update. It'll be a different experience knowing what to expect.

went here with my family of 4 last night(Saturday). was told 25 minute wait. we were seated within 10-15. waitress came by quickly took our drink order and off we went to the buffet. here's where things went a bit downhill. the line was crazy took about 30 minutes from the time we got on line till the time we sat to eat. I went for round 2 and the line was even longer took about 45 minutes. now the food was good and as I have a shellfish allergy they did take precautions to make sure I was safe. they cleaned the are of the grill and blocked it off to cook my food. They used fresh utensils that were only used on my food this was very nice and made me feel at ease that would not have to use an epipen for the night. overall the food was very good and I will definitely go again but never again on a Saturday night. would probably we a weeknight place. in total we paid $103 for a family of 4 not including tip . all of us got the fried rice. so that was $2 per person more. honestly wouldn't get it again as the buffet options were more than enough and made it not necessary
