I am deeply disappointed to share my recent experience at Denny's, which was marked by extremely poor treatment and service. My friends and I were excited to dine at the establishment, but our visit turned into an unfortunate ordeal.
Upon arriving at Denny's, my group and I were the only patrons of color in the restaurant. As we took our seats, we couldn't help but notice that we were being treated differently from other guests. We waited for nearly 30 minutes without being offered even a glass of water, while the servers seemed to be attentive to other tables.
Adding to our dismay, one of the servers displayed a shocking level of rudeness. It became evident that she was deliberately avoiding us, and the reasons behind this behavior were clear. We overheard the manager instructing the only black waitress on staff to attend to our table. This signaled to us that our treatment was based on our skin color, which is absolutely unacceptable and disheartening.
As patrons who had come in with excitement and an appetite for a good meal, we were left feeling unwelcome and disrespected. No one should ever have to endure such blatant discrimination in any establishment. We had hoped for a positive experience at Denny's, but unfortunately, our visit was marred by this deeply unpleasant encounter.
We chose to leave the restaurant as we did not want to subject ourselves to further indignity. It is disheartening to think that such prejudice and disrespect continue to exist in today's world. We believe that every individual deserves equal and respectful treatment, regardless of their race or ethnicity.
I hope that this incident serves as a wake-up call for Denny's to address the issues of discrimination, train their staff appropriately, and ensure that all customers are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. It is my sincere hope that this experience prompts positive change within the establishment, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for...
Read moreMy father's favorite place anytime of the year. He would rather go to DENNY's than a five star restaurant. We lost the one by us in Wethersfield because cars could see the employees cars behind the building were all employees must park, so people thought it was closed. It used to be open 24/7 & then Covid hit, and messed up a lot of people's businesses.
I searched for one, but couldn't find one close enough. All were OVER an hour away. Driving around figuring out were we will eat while out that way, and hadn't seen it for over a decade.
We decided to go to El Sombrero's for Mexican food.
At the light I turned my head and Said, "Look.. Denny's dad ! You want to go !? He said, " Is It open ? I said, "Cars are in the parking lot." Again I said, "So do you want to go in" , as the light was about to change. So he thought a bit an the light turned green, and said, " Hurry up !" & then he said, "...Well, ok...I guess if they are open." So we both got the Nachos. ❤ 💛 😆 🤣 😂
It was even old fashioned looking except for a few things.
(They just need to paint the sidewalk going into Denny's as it has many decades of dirt, and grease from people footwear, and is well worn out. Very few other things, and we didn't mind.
No USB ports, and I didn't bring my wires from the other car, and they only had 2 ,120 volt outlets to plug in a adapter, and the wire, but those tables were takin' anyways.
Even if I carried a adapter for an outlet I wouldn't be able to use it.
My USB charger can charge my phone 5 times @ 20,000mAh. And Mt phone has a 4000mAh battery in it, but it held its charge till we got home at 3% as I turned off the data as it takes the most energy.
Still love the Nachos there, and asked for extra Pico de gio, as they seemed to just sprinkle in on like a seasoning.
But we\I have loved Denny's for decades ! 💜(although an outdated place I really love it. It is the almost...
Read moreOn labor day, my fiance and I chose to come to Dennys for breakfast. It was extremely busy and they were very short staffed. Our wait for a table was long and there was clear tension in the air. Once seated, our waitress Robin did not take our drink orders for about 15 minutes. It took another 45 minutes for Robin to take our orders. We both ordered the pumpkin pancake meals. We then waited another hour for our food. Our meals were amazing and tasted so good. The biggest problem of the 2.5 hours we were at Denny's was watching the service. It was very distasteful to see our waitress, Robin, moving extremely slow, complaining about the business, and not busting her own tables all while all of the other employees were overworking themselves to stay caught up with not only their own tables but Robin's as well. Watching the other two waitresses offering coffee and refreshments to Robin's tables as well as busting Robin's tables was very disturbing. Watching the way Robin interacted with her colleagues and complaining to her customers about being short staffed and overworked was extremely unprofessional and affected the whole atmosphere. I felt extremely horrible for all the other staff including the cooks. They were all working hard to keep up with the flow of customers and ensure as best of an experience as they could, all while their coworker, Robin, was extremely slow, rude, unprofessional, and talking behind their backs about how things were going. Though my rating is low, I want to recognize all of the other staff members who worked hard and remained professional. I appreciate their hard work and resilience to the pressure they were under. I will definitely be returning, however, I hope never to have Robin as a...
