EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
I learned about Sparta Dairy because most people drive by it almost every day since itās near Engerman Field, which is a nice area with tables, a big open field, and a creek out back. Sparta Dairy itself is a pretty small place with lines of people going outside of the store half the time, but I think the ice cream makes it worth it. The street it is located on isnāt super busy, but there is definitely a good amount of cars that drive on it since itās right in town. Sparta Dairy can fit around 10 cars in its parking lot, but even if theyāre all full, there are a bunch more parking spaces by Engerman Field, which is right next to it. The menu has very pure and tasty ice cream that comes with many different toppings of your choice. One of my favorites is a Diary Mixer with chocolate ice cream and M&Ms. The menu consists of hard and soft serve ice cream that can come in a cup or cone that comes in sizes of kids, regular, or large, or there is a āmini soft serveā. There are also Diary Mixers which come in either a regular or large. It is soft serve ice cream blended with one topping. Other foods include Spartan Shakes (milkshakes) that come in a regular or large, and then there is a Sprinkle Sundae that comes with one topping, whipped cream, and a cherry, which also comes in a regular or large. The ice cream isnāt the cheapest but also not too overly priced, with normal hard/soft serve ice cream starting at $4 for a kid, $5 for a regular, and $6 for a large. The Diary Mixers, Spartan Shakes, and Sprinkle Sundaes are all $6 for a regular and $7 for a large and $1 for any additional toppings. Some toppings for a dollar include hard shell, hot fudge, a waffle cone, or an edible bowl. There are also ice cream cakes and ice cream sandwiches. Also, taxes are included.
Overall, Sparta Dairy is an amazing place with great food and employees and even a great atmosphere. I honestly donāt think I have any complaints and would give it a 5/5 stars. The ice cream is great quality and way better than store bought, both hard and soft ice creams are. The workers there are also very nice and I donāt think any of the workers have ever been rude to me considering Iāve gone there around 15 times. They also usually work relatively fast and get me my ice cream very quickly. Sparta Dairyās regular work hours are 12 PM to 8:30 PM Monday through Thursday, 12 PM to 10 PM Friday and Saturday, and 12 PM to 8:30 PM Sunday. On weekends, Sparta Dairy is usually pretty crowded and can take up to 10 minutes to get your ice cream, but that isnāt usually too common. I always come here if it is a hot day and need a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAwful. First, it would have been nice for the lady in the back on the phone to come out and help the poor girl with the line. She was ringing and scooping, alone.
I cannot speak for the hard ice cream, which I regret not getting, I think.., but my husband and I both threw out the soft serve ice cream without finishing even half. In 15 years of being with him, I've never seen him do this (loves ice cream!). The soft serve tasted like water and the sprinkles tasted like just cheap sugar. It was just awful! Flavorless.
There's a way-to-small sign in the window that stayed they only take cash btw. I will not return. Update; to the owners reply. Thank you for your reply, however, 4 months after the review doesn't show you are taking things too seriously. Also, your cash reply may be new but at the time, cash was the only thing accepted. I had to leave said long line after getting to the counter to go back and get cash after being told that's all they accept. The counter girl, not so nicely pointed out the mini sign on the door. I wish you the best as a small business, I never mean harm but it's frustrating to drive somewhere far, to wait long, get mediocre customer service and throw...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo after a long day I decided to take my family here for some ice cream, my sister from out of town got excited when she saw her favorite flavor... I never had it, so asked for a sample and she excitedly says "oh me too!" I loved it and asked for a cup and as he was doing it I mentioned she has a peanut allergy... she thought she was good, the area she lives in didn't use peanuts so she assumed the same case here... Well the employee showed AMAZING DILIGENCE and opened up the big binder to check, looked for the flavor-couldn't find it, and went and took the case out to read it for himself and saw it contained nuts. She is DEATHLY allergic and as soon as we left started feeling it and we rushed to the hospital, thankfully she is ok... But to that employee, thank you for being thorough- you saved her life I hope I can see you again and thank you...
