I have been to Anthony Franco's in Sparta several times but my recent visit left more to be desired. We dined in, my family and I. I ordered French Fries for my daughter. When they arrived - I tasted one and immediately tasted a fish smell. It was clear that they were cooked in the same oil as something fishy. My daughter has a shell fish allergy and when I checked with the front line staff, I was told that they could have been cooked in the same oil as shrimp. I made them aware of my daughters allergy and they didn't seem to concerned and said, "just don't eat them." I had asked them to be removed from my bill. Fast forward to the the completion of my dinner, I had requested the check. The server did remove the "french fries" from my bill by crossing out the $6 french fry order and subtracting $6 from the total, but I still had to pay tax on that $6. The french fries should have been deleted from the check all together. Yes, the tax is only pennies but they are my pennies not yours. So I proceeded to pay my check with my credit card when the server bought me back the merchant receipt to sign I noticed the total now when front $39.52 to $40.70. Did they charge me for the french fries afterall? nope - they proceeded to charge me a credit card convenience fee of $1.18 (which was undisclosed and since it was undisclosed it is therefor illegal). I am a VP for a finance company and therefor am very familiar with these rules. Per the contract under Visa and Mastercard, "retailers are required to register the surcharge with the payment network. They they must display a notice of the surcharge at the point of sale - both in store and online." No notice was visible in the restaurant. I also understand you are short staffed, but please fix your operating practices. PS. All other food ordered...
Read moreEver go to a place, have a really good meal, then go back in a week only to be disappointed with the same exact meal you had just days before? That’s exactly what Anthony Francos (Sparta) IS NOT. My household’s been an Anthony Francos patron for roughly 5 years, and NOT ONCE have we been disappointed with their food or their service. We’ve used them for catering at our home, at social gatherings, and we’ve even used their party room, in the restaurant. That’s in addition to just picking up dinner 2 to 3 times a month. Statistically speaking, at minimum, that’s one hundred and twenty, belly filling, totally delicious experiences. Anthony Francos’ middle name should be Consistency. Their establishment is clean, the pizza station and the kitchen are in open view. Their workers all have a clean, well-groomed appearance to them. A short gaze at their specialty pizza display will undoubtedly have you salivating like a saint bernard. All joking aside, you can’t go wrong with this place. Everyone is jovial and their food never...
Read moreAnthony Francos in Sparta, NJ, is THEE quintessential Italian Delivery experience. Their fettuccine alfredo? To die for. Their pizza? A crust to kill for. Sausage, pepper and onion sandwich? The reason you were born.
Their Italian wedding soup is the sin qua non, "like-Grandma-used-to-make" comfort food... without the cost, drama and agita of having to either throw or attend an actual Italian wedding.
Anthony Francos help my family and I make it thru this COVID-19 disaster; we were blessed to find that they were open and still cooking straight from the start, when everything was closed and we were getting tired of cooking every night. From appetizers to entrees, the quality of their service and food never wavered.
I can't say enough about this place. If you have the opportunity to check out their great menu and you don't, "AH, STONATO!!!"
