When searching the Internet, I found the Kalico kitchen information. There were two menus circling around on the Internet, and both of them were absolutely false when it came to the amount of money you would have to spend at this establishment. When we got there, we had one idea of how much we were about to spend in mind and once we were there and received our food the price was over-the-top extremely expensive for basic breakfast. For three glasses of orange juice alone we ended up paying $25.50 OMG 😱 See the receipt below. Their prices are way too high, but they are obviously a pretty decent place to go because the place was packed with people standing room only. One note of comparison of two restaurants: I spent $70 at. Zullee’s and it fed four people I spent $66 and it only fed two people at the Kalico kitchen. If you are on a shoestring budget, I do not suggest going to eat here way too expensive. The service was excellent though. Even though our server was quite busy, she managed to come by several times to check on us.

This venue can get packed, and for a good reason. We came back a different day because there was a line outside the door on our first attempt to eat here. Initial service was great, and staff seemed to take pride in their attire and customer service. Refills on drinks was a little slow (surprisingly). Staff did a good job explaining the menu if we had any questions, and also recommended dishes. Price point was good for the amount of food. Food was good (not phenomenal; not bad). The scramble fell a little flat on flavor, but the country eggs & French toast were good. Parking can be packed, so definitely aim for a non-busy hour if you plan on stopping in just to try the food. There seemed to be regulars as customers and employees called one another by name. A family vibe was present. Desserts were chalked on displays. Merchandise were displayed for purchase as well. *See photos.

Great diner breakfast food. The cinnamon roll french toast was absolutely amazing. I would get that again. The coffee I asked for was overly sweet, even though I asked for half sweetness, but upon sharing the news I did get two extra shots which made all of life better! I always order biscuits and gravy wherever I go, for scientific purposes. It wasn't the best, unfortunately. Generally lacking in flavor and the biscuits seemed like frozen biscuits. My 4 year old enjoyed her biscuit with table Smuckers but so many places make their own jam these days that she was unimpressed with her little plastic tin. She loved her bacon though! The service was impeccable. Each hostess and server that helped was kind and nice to talk to. Overall, I would bring a grandparent here or meet a friend that lived close by but I wouldn't travel out of my way to grab breakfast again.

First time here. We did our research, reading reviews and felt confident with our choice. We were seated right away. The dining area was clean, although very cramped. We let our waitress know that we needed another 2 minutes to order but 15 seconds later she was back, rushing us. Pressured, we went ahead-- but in the rush there was a mistake on her part and what arrived at our table was not what we ordered. Our waitress dropped off our food and bolted from the table--she never came back to see if everything was ok so we ate what was put in front of us. The biscuits and gravy were very good, bacon was cooked perfectly but the scrambled eggs were literally flat and flavorless--chopped into odd little pieces. I have never had scrambled eggs that weren't fluffy. Odd, and not at all enjoyable. I let a different waitress know (since ours never came back) that we did not get what we ordered. Our waitress came over shortly after that and apologized and ultimately took $5.00 off the bill----but immediately after rushing our order, attempted to take my plate before I was done--rushing me again. Our first impression? PROS: Clean, friendly, and average to fair prices, Bacon, coffee and biscuits and gravy were good. CONS: RUSHED service, inattentive waitress, eggs were not good and I really did not appreciate our waitress putting her knee up on the bench seat and literally getting IN the booth each time she was...

Do not recommend calling in carry out orders!! (Regardless of what their sign says) Decided to try this establishment being as I've never tried it and being the homebody I am I decided to do call in a carryout assuming they're probably a little crowded and have no problem waiting to pick up my food. Well after a few minutes of miscommunication on the phone over my order for a French toast special with the sausage and eggs and a separate plate of chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy with a cup of orange juice she finally repeats the 2 plates and drink back to me and tells me the total is 47$ after assuming she must've forgotten to taken off an item that I told her to "scratch that" because it was a combination of the 2 plates that she misunderstood at the beginning. Well anyways I go in and I get the 3 plates of food that I told her over the phone I did not want. And instead of making a huge deal in the restaurant cuz I can still feel the disconnect about the order I pay the asked price for the food I don't want from someone who had an iq of room temperature and as I ask her to explain to me how the 2 plates I ordered added up to that total she took my receipt so I can't even make sense of it after the fact. Pretty good food great crew for bad...

2 stars only cause the food was good.... This morning my family went to kalico kitchen in North spokane. The food was fast and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised, but my brother drove in from out of town and was passing thru just to see us for a short time before heading back to Oregon. We were seated for a max of 40 min. All on 1 check, and was tipped well. We were catching up all 8 of us split between two small tables. Well this lady who wasn't our server came up and told us we needed to leave because she had people she needed to seat...uhm, excuse me? How rude, and unprofessional..we weren't planning to stay for much longer because he had to get back on the road, but it left a terrible taste in all of our mouths. As paying customers, being told to get up and get out cause there's other tables trying to come in was absolutely rude..oh and forgot to mention there was about six dirty AVAILABLE tables empty, just not bussed..instead of cleaning those for people you tell paying customers to leave after 40 min? Wow..will not be back after that, and I advise people who like to enjoy a visit not to go there unless you want to be...
