Monterey Cafe — Restaurant in Spokane

Bar tender was very nice. However, after being at the bar seated at a table for 2 hrs, a Random woman approached my friends and I, and if she worked there she was drinking on the job, and she proceeded to say, " this is our table now you need to leave." It was very rude so our natural response was "no we've been here for hours." Then, she went and said something to the bouncer, who must have been her friend, but he came over and kicked us out violently. He left bruises on my friends are after we were completely complacent. Clearly this establishment is only meant for friends of the bouncers. Its just amazing how a woman can come up and be so rude to me and my friends and then because she is friends with the bouncer we get kicked out. I'd recommend hiring a competent door man/ bouncer who can actually asses a situation and kick out the guilty party or a bouncer who maybe could be professional on work hours instead of hindering the bar by kicking out well paying patrons because their friend wanted the table I happened to be sitting at. Like literally if I had been seated at any other table I would not have been kicked out, but because a woman decided my table was suddenly hers after I was seated there 2 hrs that incompetent bouncer kicked me out. I know I'll never be returning to this establishment unless u get smarter bouncers. I mean seriously it was a dispute over a table... There was no reason for that bouncer to...

First time in. Wanted to do a little karaoke. It was busy and the karaoke went down and they had to go to a manual clipboard system and it was kind of messy. Wild crowd. Weird, chaotic vibe. But we stayed for about a half hour and a song, then went outside for a cigarette. Then we decided to order a pizza. My boyfriend went inside to order one to take home with us. We stood outside for a few more minutes and went to go back in and check on our pizza and the door guy said they were at capacity, and was SUPER rude to us and REFUSED to let us inside to get our pizza that we had just paid $30 for. Talking to us like we were some kind of punkazz patrons. Being rude to other people coming to the door. I had to tell him FOUR TIMES that we were customers and we had just stepped outside for a minute and we had ordered a pizza. He was saying we were "in and out" all night LIKE WHAT?We just came outside one time and then went in to order a pizza and give the establishment more money and he wants to yell at people and treat them like they are some kind of trash. Just feel the need to express my frustrations... First off, we absolutely LOVE Monterey Café and have for years! But we have been having some disappointing experiences the last handful of weeks trying to go and get a half price pizza on Tuesday's, Google says you guys open at 7pm. A few weeks ago we had walked by and you were open at 5:30pm! (Confused we walked in and confirmed the time you open, the cook said, "5pm! Every night!") GREAT! Told him the hours were wrong on Google. 👍🏻 We then try to go again this past Tuesday, call at 6:37pm to order a pizza, bartender says, "we don't open until 7, but I'll have the cook start it for you!" THANK YOU. 🙏🏻 We arrive at 7 to wait and pick up pizza, the cook then proceeds to tell us he won't be cooking ANYTHING until 8pm. 😧 Just really disappointed with the lack of communication within the establishment and to turn away paying customers...
