UPDATE: My family and I have visited 777 a few more times since my original review of this restaurant. Since those visits, I got to try their Budae Jjigae, Yuk Gae Jang, and SamGupSal Kimchi Bukum. Truly remarkable dishes! We will be back again in the near future and still recommend this place to everyone! I was searching for Korean BBQ restaurants one day (several months ago), and this restaurant popped up. I realized at the time that this wasn't an actual Korean BBQ, but a restaurant I wanted to try nonetheless. I added it to my "must try" restaurant list at that moment and continued forward with my Google search for Korean BBQ since that is what my family was in the mood for at that time. Fast forward to 2 May 2025, opportunity knocked on my door and my wife and I opted for this restaurant because: (1) it was placed on my "must try" list; and (2) we were in the mood for some good Korean food (as depicted by their high reviews/ratings).
I was worried that we didn't call to try and make reservations (I can't validate if they accept them or not), and since it was right in the middle of the conventional 'dinner window' I figured we were doomed and had to wait 30-45 minutes before being seated. But alas, we walked in and the restaurant had a lot of tables open. Now this could mean several things depending on how you interpret it, but hey, all I cared was they had tables open upon arrival because I was starving. The restaurant employees were outstanding, from the moment we walked in, all the way until departure! The restaurant was clean and very spacious; they even had booth seating that had adequate partitions which enhanced privacy while dining. The restaurant's décor was nice/modern, and didn't seem like it was cluttering the walkways and walls - yes, sometimes I feel restaurants go a little overboard with their décor.
We ordered Fried Mandu (Dumpling), Sodduck (Spicy Rice Cake and Smoked Sausage), Galbi (Marinated Korean Short Ribs), Kimchi Jjigae, Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbop, and shared a Terra beer (I was hoping they had Cass beer). I'm going to say this up front...everything, I mean everything, was exceptional! I am sort of a Galbi snob and this place truly knows how to prepare their Galbi - yes, I make them at home and this restaurant's Galbi is equal, if not better than mine! The Kimchi Jjigae was the highlight of conversations because I don't know if I've ever experienced a better Jjigae than the one served at this restaurant...and I've had way too many to count in my life. The Sodduck and Mandu definitely hit the spot for our appetizers and I will add that my wife really enjoyed the rice cake (she's not normally into those) - the texture was perfect!
The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was reasonable; not too expensive and not too cheap...you pay for quality food and service! I paid $110 for everything listed above (w/tax), but we ordered enough food for three people (sometimes I consider myself two people at restaurants whenever I'm starving). I wanted to try so many things on their menu during that visit but unfortunately, I could only stomach so much - which means, we will definitely be back for another visit! Based on this experience, I can legitimately validate their high ratings on Google (not sure what their ratings are on other platforms). This is one of the best Korean restaurants in the Las Vegas/Henderson/Summerlin areas that I've tried in my 11+ years of living here. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone...you will not be disappointed.
Request to the Restaurant Owner: Please incorporate Kimchi Pancakes as a menu item. I am confident that you will make them...
Read moreOur family takes a trip to Las Vegas once a year, and last year we found out about this restaurant through a friend's recommendation and went there. This year, we visited the same restaurant again. I love gamjatang so much that whenever there is a Korean restaurant, whether in Korea or within the US. I always make sure to have gamjatang. When comparing last year's gamjatang to this year's, this year's gamjatang was really disappointing. Firstly, there was very little meat on the bones of the gamjatang, and there were only three small pieces of bone. Also, I always save the potatoes for last, but when I had the potatoes had a sour taste at the end, and the potatoes were mushy and old. complained to the staff about this, but they responded by saying that my taste buds were strange. I have had gamjatang many times before, and I know its taste very well, so I was extremely perplexed by the staff's response. Even though the people working in the kitchen tried the potatoes, they only said that there was no issue. I even asked my husband to try the potatoes, and he agreed that they had a sour taste at the end. However, the staff kept trying to convince me that there was nothing wrong with their food instead of apologizing.
In my mind, I don't think I will ever come back to this place again. I understand the difficulties faced by small business owners, so it's unfair, but I just paid for the meal, including the tip, and left.
It's summer, and the weather is hot, so food like potatoes can spoil within three days. Gamjatang requires pre-boiling the potatoes and then cooking them in the soup later, so I understand the process. However, they should pay more attention to the quality of the potatoes.
If there is a customer like me, I think the priority for the staff is to apologize no matter what, rather than insisting...
Read moreFor LA/OC ppl, it could be an okay due to its quality and maybe their more specialized items. For Vegas, it's pretty good just because it's cleaner quality food (don't feel a food hangover after). Soup, meat and family style sharing dishes (no bossam and cold noodles though). Decent! Finally a place that doesn't give me extreme dehydration and a huge food coma headache after. Which means they use cleaner ingredients than many of the other Korean joints. Many other restaurants is fast food quality Korean food.
We got the $25.99 Seafood pancake. Lots of seafood in it. Would order this again. $21.99 Gabi Tang Soup was decent. $34.99 Osam Bulgogi/Squid. SO was craving between squid or octopus. Decent. $23.99 Daeji Bulgogi/Spicy pork was suggested by the staff. Similar taste to Osam though. This dish usually at many restaurants are done with bad ingredients to mask old meat, or overly seasoned....no food hangover, feeling off or slow from eating this after! Cleaner version.
This place is pretty empty on a weekday night. Sad because quality is pretty good. I'd imagine maybe people don't know how to eat comfort Korean food...and only know about Western mainstream dishes.
Overall decent. I wouldn't call it the best. But it's food we could eat again vs many other places. Looking at the menu, it doesn't look like they specialize in tofu so we avoided that. Apparently their menu has shrunk? No cold noodles, no beer, etc. It looks like they never had bossam...
