Service started off good and then turned bad. No complaints about the food, and I always appreciated the warm hospitality and service every time I come here. Until now. On April 2nd, 2025 around 11pm-12pm, my friend and I ordered a variety of food and one new item I was eager to try was the kiwi salad. We received all dishes in timely manner and our server frequently checked up on us, to which I do appreciate. At the end of the dinner, we requested a to-go box and the check. Our server asked if she could take some things off the table for clean up and before I said anything, she immediately started stacking the banchan dishes ON TOP of the kiwi salad leftover I was planning on taking out. I told her and she apologized, and asked if I would want a small serving of the same salad made to-go, to which I declined without making it a big deal. She kept insisting afterward, and I started to feel pressured. When she came out with the check, she gave us melona bars as compensation. However, checking on the bill was a charge for those melona bars. I brought this up with her to ask if this was actually complimentary and she immediately went to adjust the bill for free ice cream. At this point, it kept bothering me how the service was good and then towards the end left a sour taste in my mouth. I didnโt want to make a big deal, and I understand mistakes happen. However, what I took away from my dinner was our server lacked attentiveness, stacking dishes on top of one of the items I was planning to save for home, and had the audacity to charge us for ice cream while we were made to believe it was compensation. In the same way the service went bad, I ended up losing room for dessert. My review isnโt about the food itself, while more on the service. If management is reading this, please do better. I hope the next time I come back with friends or family, the service I get wouldnโt...
ย ย ย Read moreOverall, great spot if you want good food and inexpensive drinks on Spring Mountain/Korea town or after some karaoke (which they own next door). We tried several items that included the korean fried chicken wings, the beef intestine (fire), rose rice cakes (loved the addition of the fish cake), the calamari crown (we ordered this twice), and the shrimp kimbap.
Everything from a quality level was excellent. There were a few misses. One would be the addition of a pink creamy sauce to the shrimp kimbap. Ask for it without. It added more sweetness to it and personally, with all of the sweet flavors from all the other dips and sauces; I thought this was a wasted effort and should've been mentioned on the menu.
Secondly, we had five people and only one of each banchans totaling 6 lil bowls. Wouldve been nice to have some adjustment in the quantity in each bowl, given the amount we ordered. Second, we ordered extra radish salads. Those never came.
Standdout dish for us was the beef intestine. It was nice with the large chunks of jalapeno, three dipping sauces and a side salad. Would go back just for this.
Food took quite a bit to get out, but we were entertaining ourselves with drinks and Soju. They run a buy two get one soju deal; have a wide variety of drinks offerings. They had an "add soju" option to their blended strawberry smoothies; but oddly they wouldn't allow us to add it to their non-alcoholic refreshers. Weird concept there.
Overall, would recommend giving this place a try if you're local! I'd say this place offers good value for...
ย ย ย Read moreMy wife, my friend, and I ate dinner at Q Bistro. We will definitely be going back any time we crave Korean bar food.
We ordered Corn Cheese ($7), Omelet Rice ($10), Spicy Pork ($15), Chicken Gizzards ($13), Fried Chicken Wings ($12), Spicy Tofu Soup ($10.50), and Squid Stone Pot Bibim-Bop ($12).
We assumed the portions would be typical of Korean bar food. Meaning, we expected small portions. However, the portions are huge! We all left the restaurant leaving full, but still had enough leftovers for the three of us to eat for lunch and dinner the following day.
The Bibim-Bop was my favorite dish. It was cooked in a stone pot. So, the rice on the bottom was nice and crunchy. The Chicken Wings are well fried to ensure the skin remains crisp even after it is covered with sauce.
The servers were all extremely friendly and responsive. They checked on our table several times and offered to cancel any orders if we were feeling too full.
The decor is a lot of fun. The restaurant is dark like a bar, but has lots of Christmas-like lighting. The booth seating along the main wall features tables in a shell-like area, which feels like a mini private room.
The food does not compare to Los Angeles' Koreatown. However, the atmosphere, service, and price...
