My family and I decided to finally try this place after driving past it the last year or so. We've had so many Korean restaurants in the past 9 years in which a lot of them tend to cross over with each other and we forget which restaurant we've tried and not. More often than not, I find myself referring to my Excel document to see what restaurants we've tried and which are still pending a family experience. While we were sitting at our table, we realized that this location used to be another Korean BBQ that we tried back in 2014-2015 timeframe, which took us back a little and realized how often restaurants come and go in this city. Regardless, our experience at 888 Korean BBQ was phenomenal and we're hoping that they're here to stay for a very long time.
We ended up ordering the "B menu" for each of us, which was plenty enough of meat and side selections. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take a photo of everything we ate because I was starving and had to choose whether to be the "head chef" or "photographer" for the evening so obviously, I was the cook. The quality of meat cuts were very flavorful and tender. The one dish I was surprised on was the Salmon Poke. I'm typically an Ahi Tuna Poke kind of guy so this was a shock to me. That Salmon Poke was awesome and was great with the meats and rice!
The service and environment were outstanding! Whereas everyone working there, along with the music/music videos, contributed to the overall pleasurable experience, our main server, Jovin provided exceptional service to our table - I definitely appreciate the fast and efficient service!
The minor things I wasn't a fan of are the soft tofu soup and the cooking surface. I expected a thicker consistency in the soup base; however, even if the soup base wasn't what I expected, the flavor and spice level were great! Also, the cooking surface was uneven, majority (~65% of the cooking surface), was at the center of the griddle. I also like to create a nice char to my Kalbi and Bulgogi, which was challenging with those types of surface tops. Regardless, it (and I) still cooked our food evenly which was the ultimate goal. I did like the idea of providing each table with a surface cleaning tool versus having to constantly change out the surface top.
Overall, we loved it here! I highly recommend this restaurant to all locals and visitors. If you're visiting, you definitely want to put aside some time and eat here! The prices are very reasonable/affordable for this type of...
Read moreSo rumor has it that this place is rated the highest Korean BBQ place in LV. Well you have to try it then right? If you dare to go, know that they do not take reservations so you need to put in some effort to get there and time it just right to minimize your wait time. We waited for 45 minutes which is not considered bad. While dining, the wait time got to be 2 hrs. Now is it worth the wait? I would wait an hour at most. The food is very good and the service was great, but I not for 2 hours of wait. I love that they have small one bite samplers. Greatest idea for a buffet. My favorites from the meal was surprisingly the side dishes. I loved the mini handroll, specifically the salmon, the filet mignon, LA Kalbi, and the most favorite...the Salmon Poke. I know it's bbq, but I would go back just for this. I was disappointed with the beef brisket as it was very chewy. The meat looked great, but the quality wasn't great. The LA Kalbi had great flavor, but for me, it was a little too salty. I'm not one to complain about flavor but this one was a bit too salty to eat alone. If you ate it with some rice, it would have been great but I tend to not eat rice as it's AYCE bbq. Gotta ration food space ya know. I loved the pork belly sampler as well. You got a little taste of it all without wasting food by ordering full size portions. In addition to the beef brisket being chewy, the other issue I had with this place was that the soups were big sizes, enough for 2-4 people. I found this strange being that they had small samples sizes of other foods. The issue with this is that you can't try more than one soup but also because I REALLY wanted the fried rice at the end of the meal. Well it turns out that they use the soup pot for the fried rice. So you don't order the soup, no fried rice for you. BOO on 888. That should have been stated from the beginning in my opinion. The service was great and I understand the appeal here. I would come back but only if I knew the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of introducing my boyfriend to his first all-you-can-eat, Korean BBQ experience at 888 Korean BBQ in Las Vegas, located in Chinatown Plaza. Given that 888 Japanese BBQ had a two-hour-plus wait, we were relieved that the wait here was only about 10 minutes, making it a much more convenient option for an impromptu dining experience.
The restaurant itself was clean, quaint, and well-maintained. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place for both first-timers and Korean BBQ enthusiasts alike.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the menu and the cooking process, which was especially helpful for my boyfriend’s first visit. We opted for the Prime Menu, and every cut of meat—from the beef and pork to the bulgogi—was incredibly flavorful and high-quality.
One standout feature was the convenience of ordering through the tablet, which made the process much faster and more efficient. Additionally, the staff was attentive, frequently cleaning the grill for us to ensure the best grilling experience. The overall service was fast, efficient, and accommodating, contributing to an enjoyable dining experience.
888 Korean BBQ exceeded our expectations with its efficient service, high-quality meats, and welcoming atmosphere. For anyone looking for a top-notch all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ experience in Las Vegas, this spot is highly recommended—especially if you’re looking to avoid long wait times at other popular BBQ spots in the area.
Would definitely return for...
