I decided to eat at this restaurant based on an impulse decision. My family and I have eaten at Marie Callender's a couple times at different locations several years ago and thought is was just ok, so I was reluctant on trying it again anytime soon; however, on 6 Oct 2023, my wife and I gave it another try. We ended up eating here a little late in the night so I was concerned that the experience was going to be less than adequate, but, we were amazed how everything was.
We ended up ordering the Home-Style Beef Stroganoff, Braised and Slow-Roasted Pot Roast, Salad Bar, French Apple Pie, and Razzleberry Pie. The salad bar is not something I would boast about, but it contained majority of the items I enjoy. There were two different soups available on the salad bar (Vegetable and Potato Cheese), and they were decent. Our main course was great; both entrées were served hot and tasted like "home cookin'." Out of the two entrées, I'd say the Pot Roast was the better dish out of the two we ordered, but both were good. The pies were magnificent, although, I wish the restaurant didn't look out for my health and served a little more of the French Apple Pie (it seemed as though they didn't give me a full slice).
The service was outstanding; our server, Andres, was very friendly, professional, and did such an excellent job overall...which made our experience stellar. I was extremely shocked on how well-maintained (clean) the restaurant was, to include its bathrooms, especially considering that the building is on the older side. Then again, I was there late evening when there weren't a lot of customers to dirty things up. The prices here are reasonable and I really appreciate how this franchise supports the men and women of the military and its Veterans - thank you for that! Overall, I enjoyed the experience and recommend this restaurant...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked to the doors the service was unacceptable. We waited for almost 15 minutes for a seat, which there was multiple seats available when we got to the table. There was a large bug the crawled next me by my chair afterwards the food was not fully cooked. The meatloaf was like a something that tasted out of a can. The salad was not fresh nobody came to check on us I had to send my children to get their attention because they completely ignored us while we were there they gave my husband a lemonade that was gross, and had no flavor when we left, they didn’t even say would you like any dessert and we had to ask them to give us our check multiple times very unacceptable. The chefs in the back were fighting and the manager had to break it up. Very horrible service. Never will I return And to make matters worse we felt like an igloo inside of the building we froze and the place was filthy. i will never return to this location at all . I once loved this place and the pies were incredibly delicious. but this location will never have my service again......Update called the manager general manager of the restaurant and was told I was going to get 15% of my money back which would’ve been like $15 and some change and said I would love to meet you in person and to make things right but I never got my refund and she said I call you back in 5 to 10 minutes with update. It took about 45 minutes before she decided to call me back and said I will have a talk with the waiter and the manager at work last night. sorry for this. Hopefully we can meet in person one day and as I said before, I will never be there again. And as of three days later,...
Read moreWent to the place last night and honestly was not the best. The food was pretty decent, but I had to send it back a couple times because it was the wrong food the first time around then the second time around it was cold in the center. Overall once it was done RIGHT the food was okay. It was extremely busy, props on the servers for being able to handle it well as well as the young lady clearing off tables with haste. However there was a table near me that I happened to over hear had a little problem with their food. The manager had come out to greet them and explain the situation, however; upon first glance one would not thing that she is manager, let alone had worked in the building if she had not worn a name tag. Her attire and overall presence was very unprofessional. She did not know how to speak to the customers properly, speaking as if she had no idea what was going on in her store and had just now been informed and her attire was one of which I had to avert my eyes. With my wife in front of me I was ashamed to have seen the amount of cleavage this lady was showing about. And her bottoms so very tight I had felt uncomfortable. They looked to appear to be leggings of the sort. And in my humble opinion should not have been allowed to wear in such an establishment. Again props to the servers and the young lady clearing off tables that night, they seemed to have been doing their job with the utmost attention and professionalism. (Update: I found out today the managers name...
