Sumo Hotpot & Sushi, with its promise of all-you-can-eat premium sushi and hotpot, largely delivers on its word, offering a satisfying and value-packed dining experience. I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10. One of the most impressive aspects of Sumo is the high-quality ingredients for an AYCE establishment. Often, all-you-can-eat can mean a compromise on quality, but that's not the case here. The sushi, in particular, is above average for the price point, featuring fresh fish and well-prepared rolls. The huge variety of appetizers, sushi, and hotpot options ensures there's something for everyone, making it a great spot for groups with diverse tastes. We were also pleased to find fresh greens and salads available, a refreshing counterpoint to the richer hotpot and sushi. The service was exceptionally fast and friendly, with staff promptly clearing plates and refilling drinks. This efficiency is a huge plus, especially when you're making the most of an all-you-can-eat menu. I saw the manager, Florence, bussing the tables along with the staff so you know she leads by example and hard work. For the hotpot, the inclusion of Wagyu beef was a tempting offer. While it was a nice touch, I have to admit it tasted more like regular beef brisket than the distinctively marbled and tender Wagyu I've come to expect. However, it was still enjoyable. We visited during their amazing grand opening AYCE lunch special for $19.99, which was an incredible deal. It's worth noting that the menu for this special is limited, but we found the options provided to be adequate enough to have a fantastic meal. A major con to consider, especially during peak hours, is the lack of an inside waiting area. We had to wait outside, which could be uncomfortable depending on the weather. However, they do have a convenient cell phone paging system, so you're not tethered to the entrance. On the practical side, the bathrooms were clean, and there was plenty of parking available, which is always a welcome relief. Overall, Sumo Hotpot & Sushi provides a fantastic all-you-can-eat experience with high-quality ingredients, excellent service, and a vast array of choices. Despite the minor issue with the Wagyu and the outdoor waiting area, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a satisfying...
Read moreMe and my family went to this restaurant this Monday, but after this visit, I can say me and my family will never go back to this place, there is a lot same level all you can eat hot pot and sushi place in Vegas, but service and food will be better. First we were there before they open, so we waited outside, when we sit down, the server seems very busy, because there is only 2 servers, when our server take our orders, he is really rush, can't even wait until we told him what all we want, he is like" let's do with this, have them working on your order," then he was left, we would have to wait about 20min for our food, next time when he get chance take our order again, same thing happen again, we only order 3 or 4item. He will be stop and leave, we have 8 people setting in two tables, even we did separate order, 3 or 4 item with Japan food, for 4 people still very tiny. After our third time order, our table was empty with nothing and we been wait for more than 20min for our food. Finally 3 place get to our table, I know that will be finish very quick, so I am going to order for more, server tell me this will be our last order, even for ice cream, I am like we didn't eat much yet but just waiting, then I ordered 2 roll of sushi, some nigari sushi, he keep tell me they will charge for leftover, because he think I order too much, this really make me uncomfortable, I told him we didn't not eat much yet I got, but he keep say that. Your restaurant is all you can eat restaurant, but they really don't want customers order much, just try to let them go so they can serve next table. With their price in Vegas you can find a lot better service restaurant, if you are small tummy, maybe you can try with them, but if you are a person paid all day price want try all their all day specials dish, truth me you will be disappoint when you start order, because they will cut you when you order, so you can't order much every time, just like us, with 8prople but can not order all of their specials dish. And and and, I have had diarrhea two times after I eat this...
Read moreI came into Sumo Hot Pot expecting greatness. After all, the same owners gave us Sakana (arguably the sushi GOAT in Vegas) and Sumo Sushi (which pulled off the biggest glow-up since high school reunion season). So naturally, I thought this new hot pot spot was going to be phenomenal. Spoiler alert it wasn’t! First off, waiting 50 minutes for a hot pot platter is wild. I mean…you’re literally handing me raw meat, broth, and vegetables. I’m the one cooking here! What exactly is happening in the kitchen—are they raising the cow before they slice it? Then there was the service. Three different times servers tried to give us someone else’s food. At this point I felt like I was on a game show called “Whose Hot Pot Is It Anyway?” except nobody was winning. Meanwhile, our waitress checked on us less than my dentist does. And the broth? Oh boy. I specifically said I didn’t want seafood flavor with my Wagyu, and she promised me their house seafood broth “doesn’t really taste like seafood.” Well, surprise it tasted like clams crashed my beef party and refused to leave. Seafood plus Wagyu? That’s not surf and turf. That’s just turf ruined. Now, credit where credit is due. The sushi was amazing! But honestly, I’m not shocked. Sushi is what these owners specialize in, and it showed. The rolls were fresh, balanced, and every bite reminded me why Sakana is legendary and why Sumo Sushi became a neighborhood favorite. If only the hot pot side of things lived up to the...
