Hot N Juicy Crawfish — Restaurant in Spring Valley

Guys and gals, let me put you on- I don’t do many google reviews, which is my BIGGEST mistake. I am a huge foodie, always trying out new dishes and spots in town, so for me to come here and make a review on this place should be enough to convince you it’s time to try it out!! I came here twice this month with my boyfriend (for reference, I’ve tried another h&j location two years back and fell in love). The first time, we ordered the drool (hot and juicy style mild) with extra corn, potato, and sauce. Their sauce is packed with flavors, thick for a good dipping, and has so many layers to it you’ll want to come back for more. We weren’t a big fan of the sausage in the bag (nothing to do with the restaurant- we just aren’t big fans of sausage in general) and would’ve preferred to get more seafood instead, which is why the next time we came, we got a pound of crab legs and a 1.5 lb lobster!! You know we had to get four potatoes on the side for the both of us to share and corn because they’re so tender and send you straight to heaven with one bite in their signature sauce. We decided on garlic butter for the crab, Cajun sauce for the lobster, and we stuck with hot and juicy for the potatoes and corn because it’s phenomenal in that sauce. In the future, we’ve decided to stick to the hot and juicy sauce completely. It’s our favorite and we couldn’t distinguish the other sauces enough to want another instead. We ordered fried donuts to go. My boyfriend had one and said they were excellent, but my stomach was bulging and I couldn’t eat anymore. 😂 I forgot they were in my fridge after that but would’ve liked to try them fresh and warm. They smelled amazing. Aside from the food, the service is excellent too. All the servers I’ve had have been attentive and caring, wanting to know how the food was and if they could bring us anything else. I wish I remembered their names. They bring tons of gloves, a napkin tray is sitting on the table ready for use, free drink refills for soft drinks throughout your meal (and they sent us home with two new sodas both times as well), tons of lemons/salt/pepper to add onto your bite, and a hot and juicy plastic bib of course, so food doesn’t splatter all over your shirt. If you looking for a seafood place with great care, tasty food, and a clean space then come here!! A plus side is you get to choose your own seating, so if you’re on the socially anxious side, you can choose to go anywhere that feels comfortable or even decide to sit in front of one of the tvs. FYI, I’m 20 weeks pregnant and hot and juicy is all I’ve been craving. I told my boyfriend I want to go back this weekend. 😩 He keeps saying “my pockets hurt” because I always get the priciest things and the biggest portions, but I can’t help it- what the baby wants, the baby gets. I swear I send him about 30 seafood boil reels in a day and am constantly bringing up the yummy potatoes and crab legs. I promise you, you’ll regret not getting extra potatoes on the side, so just listen to me and order a few extra for everyone at the table. I hope to be back here soon, and for all the mommas and papas wondering, this place is very kid friendly. There is a small bar in the back like most places (Applebees, chili’s, etc) but I’ve never seen anyone get crazy drunk here or use profanity. I think the little ones would enjoy this place, so don’t worry about getting a babysitter to watch them or staying home instead of coming out and enjoying dinner as a family. THEE WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD EVER!!!

We had a party of 16, one person in our party was in a wheel chair. We were celebrating a birthday, and waited 45min-hour (which is acceptable). When the tables were finally set up it didn't fit everyone in the party so we patiently waited 15 more min for an additional table. After waiting and us helping the waiter rearrange the tables the waiter took our drink orders. When the drinks came 2 cups of water were dirty and yellow. When we made the waiter aware of the cups he didn't say anything about it, (Not even an apology). I work in the customer service field so I know that some days can be bad, but with such a large party all the stops should've been pulled out. When it came time to order he started at the head of the table. When the order came out the head of the table was the last to get their order. The Hawaiian rolls were dark brown, the chicken po boy was dark brown, the shrimp was over cooked, the raspberry tea came after asking for it 5x's, the cheese sticks and Hawaiian rolls came out last (They should've been the first things to come out because we ordered them like they were appetizers), they came out 20min after the bag of shrimp. What made this experience worse than bad was that the waiter never wrote any order down and when we asked where the food was his response was "it's coming out". He never asked how we were doing during dinner and when it came time to pay the check he asked; "How many checks will there be?" (He made sure the check was on time and right), he then stated "per policy, I can only split it 3ways for large parties." When we paid for our food, the waiter never asked who the cards (Visa, Matercard, and American Express) belonged too. Instead he placed the cards on the table and walked away, leaving us to pass them out (Security and Privacy was not a factor for our waiter AT ALL.) That was the last straw for my husband.

If our party was too large their should've been 2 waiters/waitresses. He NEVER acknowledged the Birthday Girl. This is our last time going to this location. I love to over tip because I understand the struggles of working in the customer service industry, but tonight's service was the very worst of all the bad experiences I've ever had.

You guys completely ruined my Halloween. I've never tried Hot n Juicy before and was really looking forward to it. I know these types of restaurants have Blue crab so I called the 2 closest to me and neither had any available. Called this one which is 35 minutes away from me. They said they had some though so it was worth the drive. Finally get there and are seated, we order food and our server Celina knew we have never been there before. She broke it down for us and I asked for the 2nd time if they have Blue crab and she shook her head and said "We have plenty of blue crab" i was stoked to finally get to try the blue crab. About 5 minutes after a large group of 10 is seated, and about 10 min after that our food finally arrived. Missing the blue crab bag which the waitress said "We are just waiting on the blue crab, it will be out shortly" time goes by at this point and out waitress Celina never comes back. Finally she comes back around and asks if we need anything. I asked for the blue crab since that was the only thing missing (which was my meal by the way, my wife and daughter got their food) she comes back around and says unfortunately we are all out if blue crab. I'm quite shocked because they just told me we were waiting on it. Moments before she came to the table, the group of 10 all got blue crab served to them. So instead of me getting my meal, it was given to a different group probably because there was more people. Sorry Celina but you don't know me or what I do. I love to tip generously and you lost it all because you decided to take a break while I was waiting for my food. I hope you enjoyed their tip. I was beyond let down at that point and they did nothing except take it off the menu. Trash place, trash customer service, I hope the rest of your night sucks just like mine does Celina. Because I had to drive 35 min back home without food because you guys would rather help a larger table more....
