Stopped by for dessert after having dinner nearby. Quiet and quaint atmosphere. Cute decor and self-serve water table. There werenât too many people inside so we luckily didnât have to wait to order. Staff was very friendly and patient while we decided on what to get since it was our first time. They had lots of options and I appreciate when places have pictures to go with these options so I know what Iâm getting. Hubby decided on the mango tango bingsoo, large size, about $10+. I got the creme brĂ»lĂ©e crepe, which was about $8.50. Portions were huge!!! We didnât expect that.
I loved the taste of the crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e crepe filling. It was like custard and whipped cream mixed inside. The top was like actual crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e where you crack it. The inside had strawberry slices inside the crepe too but I didnât feel like they were fresh as some looked a little older and tasted old, not juicy and plump like a fresh strawberry. Could just be the batch they got but I get the idea and wouldnât mind getting it again. The crepe wasnât what I expected as I love French crepes so I was a bit disappointed at first. Itâs actually more thick and chewy in texture. It was still good however and I enjoyed it. I read on another review that itâs made with mochi flour. So just know that if youâre looking for a French crepe, this isnât it. But itâs still really good.
This was also the first time hubby tried bingsoo. He likes shaved ice, âsnowâ desserts, and similar things so figured he would like the bingsoo. He absolutely loved it!!! Presentation was great! The bingsoo was so big but also light and fluffy. It had chunks of fresh mango throughout and mango popping boba all around the bowl. There was also pop rocks which made for an interesting texture and taste experience. Hubby says he would eat it everyday if he could. Now heâs on the hunt to find a place like sweet mong where we live as we are...
Read moreI tried Sweet Ming for the first time today. The young woman who was there alone this afternoon was super friendly. When I got there I was the third customer but shortly after another couple came in. The server was very busy taking orders and preparing the food items. I didnât know what to try - they had an extensive menu of shaved ice (bingsoo in Korean), crepes, boba, coffee etc. The server suggested that I try their most popular bingsoo. I ordered the Seoul Bingsoo (i think thatâs what it was called with red beans, rice cake, and nut sauce. Usually, Iâm at Sul&bean for my shaved ice but wanted to try a new place. Sweet Ming is more expensive than Sul&Bean especially because itâs also much smaller in size than Sul & Bean. The snow is the same but Sweet Ming is less sweet which is nice since I prefer my beans less sugary. However I didnât like the oats that Sweet Mong springkles on the bingsoo. It wasnât granola but a somewhat undertoasted thing that didnât really add to the flavor. At Sul&Bean they used dried and toasted jujubes which are quite tasty and more authentic for the bingsoo. Overall, I think the best thing going for this location is the staff and itâs a cozy spot - nothing too special in terms of...
Read moreIf youâre a fan of bingsoo, this dessert shop is a must-visit. Their Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsoo is hands-down the star of the menuâcreamy, fluffy, and full of fresh flavor. Itâs a must-try that totally lives up to the hype.
The shop itself is cute with charming decor and a cozy vibe. Thereâs outdoor seating too, which is great on nice days. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better.
They offer two sizes, which is nice for sharing or treating yourself solo. That said, it is on the pricier sideâ$12 for the smallâbut honestly, the quality makes it worth the splurge. Itâs the best bingsoo Iâve had in town so far.
The location is convenient with available parking, but the one downside is the presence of a homeless man who tends to hang out near the entrance. Itâs not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of.
Overall, this place is a gem for dessert lovers. If you havenât been, the Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsoo alone is worth the trip.
