Tora Katsu & Curry: A Japnese Sunrise
In the vibrant world of culinary delights, Tora Katsu & Curry stands as an undisputed gem. During my recent visit, I enjoyed savoring Japanese cuisine's intricate flavors and textures, with the Pork Rosu Katsu and soba combo taking center stage. Allow me to share my experience in detail, as it sent me back to Edo, Japan, for the senses.
The Pork Rosu Katsu and soba combo at Tora Katsu & Curry is a dish that showcases the art of precision and balance. It's not merely a meal; it's an experience. As the word arrived, I was immediately captivated by the aromas wafting from the plate. The golden, crispy pork cutlet, known as Rosu Katsu, lay before me, luring me in. However, it was the interactive element that genuinely set this dish apart.
A dainty pestle and mortar were presented alongside the dish, inviting me to engage in a sensory exploration. Within the mortar were toasted sesame seeds, their fragrance a prelude to the impending alchemy. With each deliberate motion, I ground the seeds into a fragrant paste, releasing their oils and essence. This transformation was a tactile pleasure and a journey into the heart of Japanese culinary tradition.
The brown sauce, a velvety elixir, was infused with the freshly ground sesame, resulting in a sauce of unparalleled depth and character. The sesame seeds imparted an earthy, nutty quality, and their oils provided a silky texture that luxuriously coated the palate. When drizzled over the Pork Rosu Katsu sauce, the sauce was nothing short of perfection, elevating the dish to new heights. Each bite of the pork cutlet is resplendently crispy on the outside and sumptuously tender within, elevating the dish to new heights.
The Soba served on the same plate, was a harmonious companion. The buckwheat noodles, with their delicate, slightly nutty flavor, were cooked to perfection and served in a warm, umami-rich broth. Their presence complemented the pork cutlet exquisitely, creating a balance of flavors and textures that was a joy to savor.
Tora Katsu & Curry's Pork Rosu Katsu & Soba combo is a masterclass in cuisine. It seamlessly blends the interactive experience of grinding sesame seeds with the sublime flavors of Japanese culinary tradition. The result is a dish that is not only delectable but also celebrates texture and technique. Tora Katsu & Curry is an establishment that appreciates and respects the traditions of its craft, ensuring a dining experience that is nothing short of exceptional. If you're looking for a culinary journey that transcends the ordinary, Tora Katsu & Curry is the place to be. It is a realm where innovation and tradition converge in delightful harmony, and each bite is an ode to...

I have seen so many pictures of Cheese Katsu and knew I needed this in my life. I love cheese especially when it is ooey gooey. Pair that with happiness and I think that is where happiness may lie.
Upon entering was quickly greeted and ushered to sit wherever I chose. They are very short staffed so I was warned right off the bat. I knew this was the situation as I attempted to come up a couple of days prior and a sign was outside stating the hours were going to open later. A menu was given and drink order was taken.
I opted for the Cheese Katsu + Soba combo along with a Aloha Apple drink. I was hoping it was Aloha Apple Tea but still non the less it is one of my favorite brands to have. With the combo I was asked if I wanted the Soba hot or cold. Everything was wonderful in taste. I should have got one to go honestly.
Interior is several table and chair arrangements. There is plenty of space for large parties along with smaller groups. Everything was clean despite the fact that the server was also the busser and everything in-between. Music was playing in the background. The decor is beautiful.
Would def recommend - Pricing in my opinion was reasonable. For the combo dishes be prepared to wait 25-30 minutes as it does take time. If you are looking for fast food this is not the place for that. I think once they have more staff it will be an even...
Read moreThis place used to be my favorite spot nine months ago, but after today's experience, I'm not sure I'll return. I used to come here almost every week, but today, the server gave me attitude when I arrived. I understand this server was busy on Father's Day night, but I only wanted to eat. If they couldn't accommodate any more customers, they could have just told me nicely. I ordered curry katsu and soba, but I forgot to specify the type of katsu I wanted. Instead of politely asking me if I wanted chicken or pork, the server just gave me a look. It was really off-putting because I don't work here, do I have to teach you how to ask the customers? When the food arrived, I could already tell the rice was terrible because it was wet. A curry restaurant should serve good rice, and you don't have another item to sell. The server acknowledged that the rice looked wet when I mentioned it, but he didn't offer to do anything about it. He returned to the counter and was busy with his TOGO orders. I don't necessarily need a discount or a freebie, but at least ask me if he can make it better.
I don't know how the owner feels about this server's service quality, or maybe this is the standard of service, but it's clear that this place is going down. In the end, good luck with the quality of this food...
