I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my cousin's birthday at Hayashi Hibachi, and I can confidently say that it was an incredible experience. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. This restaurant truly knows how to create a memorable dining experience.

I went here on a Thursday night with my best friend for my birthday dinner. We were told it’s a 30 minute wait. It didn’t seem busy but we waited anyways. Once we got seated at the table, our server came over a couple minutes later and took our orders. When he took our drink orders, he was confused on what we were ordering being that he was only 20 years and been working there for two weeks. Not a big deal tho, he did his best to get our order correct which was two drinks and two shots. I’ve been here a couple times and it’s always an issue with my bar drinks so I was pretty much prepared for it to happen again. So the drinks are on the way to us and we notice that the green tea shots were made as drinks, we didn’t want that, so he took them back. Ten to Fifteen minutes later a woman walks up to us with one of the green tea drinks asking if we ordered that with a nasty attitude. We told her we ordered shots and she tried to convince us that those were shots. Mind you it’s a high ball glass with melted ice cubes and two blacks straws, a drink ! I’ve been a bartender for too long, I know the difference between a shot and a drink and TABC doesn’t allow for you to order two cocktails at the same time. She then told us that’s how some people take it and that’s how they make it. She said they can strain the green tea drinks into a shot glass, the same drink that’s been sitting out for 20 minutes. Not even offering to make us fresh shots. We still didn’t want them, we was ok with just our drinks. She then tells us we can’t order anymore drinks because that’s their policy. So if you order a drink and they mess it up be prepared to not be able to order again smh. The lady with the black eyebrows and blonde ponytail on top of her head is the manager (Liliana) who approached us so rudely. Thanks for ruining my birthday dinner. UPDATED REVIEW: I returned back to speak with Joseph. He was great and accommodating even before he recognized who I was. He did exactly as promised and replaced my fried rice and even added chicken, beef , and shrimp to upgrade to combination rice. I would definitely recommend based on the customer service experience alone. The food was a bonus! I think more businesses should be more effective at correcting mistakes. Beautiful place, Beautiful people and now I know the FRIED RICE IS BEAUTIFUL TOO!!! Kudos Hayashi!! I Will Be Back!!! Soon!! 👌🏾

They do have a beautiful sushi bar to enjoy as well as a full service cocktail bar.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Well... I wanted to go with 5 stars but unfortunately the main thing I went for was missing from my plate. WHAT IS HIBACHI WITHOUT THE FRIED RICE??? 😩

Got home, after driving an hour to and an hour from the restaurant to find no rice on my plate. I lost my appetite instantly. $35 and some change, and 2 hours later I'm still hungry and still have to go to work in a few hours with no food.

Talk about a HORRIBLE situation.

I did call the restaurant and of course they offered to give me the rice if I came back but who wants to drive 2 MORE hours in Houston evening traffic for fried rice?! Have you all seen gas prices?? Lol. So I was offered 10% on my next visit which I appreciate but I think my meal should just be refunded and forget about the rice because I'll honestly probably never make it back that way any time soon.

But just check your food before you leave and you should be good. The customers seemed happy that were there. And I did taste a bit of the food I had in the box. It was pretty good but not at all the experience I was hoping for. The customer service was great and I can appreciate that as well. Definitely open to re-trying them at another time. I'm open to changing the rating if I am accomodated for my dinner...
