After calling several Chinese restaurants, I finally found one that cooks with vegetable oil! I have a fatal anaphylactic allergy to sesame seed oil. I can't even walk in to a restaurant for fear I touch something with sesame residue (like the same cleaning cloths used to wipe all the tables.) It is not a full service restaurant. You place your order at the counter and pay. It is packed as a takeout order. Stapled paper bag in a plastic bag and styrofoam and plastic food containers, plastic utensils, 12 oz canned sodas or house made teas (approx. 24 oz), but no refills. You can then sit in their dining area to eat or take it home. Condiments included packs of soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce, duck sauce, and fortune cookie. No pepper oil or extra napkins on the tables. The food is piping hot, flavorful, very hearty servings of rice. Chicken egg rolls! ( None of those papery spring rolls, yuck). The orange chicken was beautifully done with white meat. The beef chow fun was so loaded with tender meat and completely filled the container! It's not top of the line food w/o sesame oil, but for my situation, it was worth driving 19 miles. It's good, satisfying, and very inexpensive. We paid just under $40 tax included for 2 combos and one chef special. Combos include steamed or fried rice, soup,...
Read moreHands down best Chinese restaurant in Houston. I've been to several Chinese restaurant's and buffets, no one has yet to out do Imperial Garden!
Update! I’ve been coming here since I was 13. Me & my child hood friends would ride our ride bikes from sableride, just to eat here! I’ve moved all around Houston and tried almost every Chinese restaurant since moving out the neighborhood ages ago. Idc what anyone says! No one compares to Imperial Garden! Large portions and very tasteful. There is a reason they’ve been in business for 20+yrs! I live in Humble and won’t hesitate to make that drive even until this day ! I called my food in today 3/4/23 15minutes prior to arriving, and my food was still steaming hot still! I easily spent 78 dollars and it was well worth the price! The portions are outrageously generous. Anyways, thank you imperial garden for the 20+years of amazing Chinese! This picture doesn’t do justice being that it’s been in the fridge, I’m simply trying to show you the portion that’s left over even after me eating a lot. I’m a big guy and can eat a lot. Look how much I have left still! Imagine how full it was prior!😂

Read moreI can only tell u that this is the best Chinese food in Houston Tx on the north side, but u will have to drive there to understand how beyond the food is, I am a New Yorker and born in phila pa, and been to a ton of places just looking for the best or just close to the style and taste of home food, and I found it. If u love the BBQ pork fried rice tell them u want it dark and no veggies and u will get the east coat style food, they will make it how ever u want it at no charge, I order 15 times a month here and wanting more,
2nd the biggest reason is the price, I get any thing I want on the menu for less then a combo from a fast food place, complete meal with a home cooked soups of choice, from the egg rolls to the meal, all for 6 dollars, that me and my wife shares and is stuffed all the time from a single lunch special,
Worth the drive and worth the try,
3rd anything u order is what I love the most is always fresh and never a past day of foods, that's why the taste is just amazing!
After u eat here you'll agree with me, as I love the staff and fast delivery in 20 mins of service always and I mean always fresh!
Try it u won't be...
