I looked for a restaurant that served chicken mole and decided to try this establishment. Having resided in San Antonio for a decade, I am very familiar with Mexican food. I was excited to try the chicken mole, and I also ordered a crispy beef taco. Upon receiving my order, the server showed me the meal, and, although the mole was a different kind (much lighter in color) than the typical cocoa-based mole that I am accustomed to, I was open-minded to the different flavors that this poblano-based mole had to offer. I found the sauce to be a nice blend of flavors that was neither too spicy nor too bland. The quality of the chicken, on the other hand, was not very good, as I found myself chewing on a couple pieces of gristle. Lastly, the taco I received was not in a crispy shell but a corn tortilla, and the beef was dry and over-cooked. The rice was very bland. There were no toppings included, such as sour cream, guacamole, or lettuce, and no chips and salsa. There was a tiny cup of what I thought was tomatillo sauce and a few flour tortillas, however. Read moreBeen to this place multiple times, but today we were very disappointed. Not only was the service bad from an elderly man, but we were asked to return back because they had given us someone else’s order. After we arrived for the SECOND time we still got the wrong order because I specifically asked for a consomé sin verduras with tortillas de maíz and we were giving a caldo sin verduras without tortillas. TWO SEPARATE things. When the cook came out and asked to double check the elderly man refused to get the order fixed. After they refused to fix the order they continue to argue so we just decided to leave. Food is amazing BUT service was the total opposite! Never...
Read moreSabor D.F. is an unassuming restaurant that boasts delicious food and staff who were fun to talk to. We had the revuelta pupusas, gorditas, plato de asada, horchata (I'd recommend this), and mango agua fresca. We enjoyed all the dishes so I doubt you'd go wrong with any of the dishes!
Update 12/16: we returned and tried the grilled chicken (not pictured), machete combo, and taco salad. I'm now even more convinced that everything on the menu is delicious! P.S. Don't let the fact that the machete combo is in the appetizer section fool you--it's a...
