Food isn't worth the cost. Experience was terrible. Our waitress basically just told us how she was bad at her job every time she came to the table. We don't need to hear how the "new system" is making you slower - that tells me you're incompetent. Learn the system. It is literally your job. Furthermore, there were a few other tables with people but she was only waiting ours as far as I could tell so there's no rush foe her to get it right... but she rushed everything and got it wrong and... it was a bad time.
They didn't have wings in stock when I ordered them. They should note that they're out of something where you're waiting to be seated... or the waitress/waiter should be informing us when they tell the soup of the day what is out in the kitchen.
Our waitress input our order all kinds of wrong. Then, she went in the back and got someone else to help. Food came out weird as a result. She brought food out that we didn't order and other food customized on ways we hadn't requested. Example - daughter can't have dairy but her salad came covered in cheese. Mine came without cheese. We swapped at the table at the waitress request of us, but they were different salads... and we shouldn't have had to do that. I ended up with a salad that had mixed greens and cheese and no other veggies as a result. My daughter had the other veggies. I guess its petty, but they charge a lot, especially when service apparebtly isn't part of the equation. It was like this lady was doing opposites day or something. There was lots of back and forth with her and the kitchen. She also wouldn't let us see our bill before we processed payment. Said she couldn't because "that's how the new system is" (which is complete bull - no where in the world is gonna ask you to pay blind without a reciept of your order upfront) She said she could get us a printed reciept... and then she made a point of obviously checking her tip on the way out to hand it to us, like she was working so much and deserved a good one or something. Wife tipped $5 before I could hit "no tip" button on the thing because she's too nice. It was an overall terrible experience and the lady should have been happy with the $5 because it probably cost this Isaac's a repeat customer in the end. I can't recommend this place after that experience....
Read moreAs a York resident, most of us that order from here KNOW it is too overpriced, which is fine, because the food is normally good. I gave this restaurant a break for a good 2 years, because the family has been able to find food at way better pricing and better portions, however I missed my favorite sandwich, the Firebird, and I wanted to get a little taste of nostalgia. Well, I’ve order Isaac’s twice this week, the first time was to eat my firebird, however I was quickly let down after finding out that it’s TOTALLY off the menu, so I ordered a ppj soup which was always a hit, and slimy southwest salad. Whatever, it’s just a salad, let’s try again later on in the week, right? WRONG. I ordered a LARGE corn chowder, and a magpie, and when I say, it was HORRIBLE, I was quite literally holding my puke in, and praying to god this isn’t food poising. The soup was SO THICK, with the consistency of mucus, it made me feel so sick after a couple bites. Then I move on to my magpie, hoping this meal can be redeemed. The samdwich was DRYER than the Sahara Desert, flavorless like my Nannie’s cooking, and most of all, a disappointment, considering the amount I paid. If I would’ve know how trifling it was all going to be, I would’ve gotten a smaller size, or maybe nothing at all. It’s dull outdated look doesn’t help me believe there’s love being put into this business, let alone the food. I think this restaurant needs A SERIOUS EVALUATION, and possibly a better chef. I don’t think returning to this restaurant was the best idea, if anything, I should’ve...
Read moreThe food is always good, love the Maryland crab soup and wish it were on the menu all the time because it is so good. We like this location because of the waitresses, Reagan is our favorite waitress. She always goes above and beyond. Looking forward to spring and summer on the deck, love watching the birds while we eat......
Wrote this a few years back before Isaac's became yet another greedy restaurant. The prices have gone up on everything, a drink is $3.49, ridiculous.
They are also now charging 3% if you use a card to pay.
I used to pay a 20-25% tip if not more, not when paying these prices. And for a sandwich place no less. Please, you can get a better meal with better prices at a few of the buffets in the area.
Isaac's pay your waitstaff what they are actually worth because without them you would not be able to be in business unless like grocery stores and some department stores you become self serve. You lost a long time customer today. And suck up that 3% you are now charging your customers...You can afford it! No one uses cash anymore. You think that small print was too small for people to pay...
