After waiting for months and months for this restaurant to open, it finally did (It was a few months ago when I first went there). Excitedly, I went inside to see only two customers. Not too busy at all. Walked straight up to the cashier with two friendly women as one of them gave me the menu so I can look over of what choices do they have to take out. After deciding of what I want, I went back to the cashier and spoke to the lady that I want a small size Pho with Steak. She understood and tells me to wait while she is in the kitchen telling one of the employees to deal with me. A guy came out who then has an impatient attitude as tells me to sit down. I sit down on one of the tables and explained to him that I wanted a Pho with Steak, small size. (They changed the prices one dollar up as shown in the menu before or after the restaurant was opened. Small was $9.75 now $10.75, Large was $10.75 now $11.75) He then points out to have me get a large size instead which I thought at first he made a mistake. I said to him again that I wanted a small size. He then keeps pressuring me into once again getting a large size and explains me the more reasons. During his explanation, I was trying to understand what he was saying with his accent. After he explained everything, I genuinely got confused and asked him a question (it was a simple misheard dumb question but I had to ask without rudeness). He then quickly got frustrated and give me bad attitude. He explained to me clearly the second time and I fully understood it. Without any choice, I took the Large size, he took my order, and left while I’m sitting down waiting for my meal. One girl on the cashier asked me if that was everything. I replied with a “yes” and I paid my meal with my card, $12.48. That’s when she asked me if I have any tip. I replied “unfortunately, I don’t have any” yet she understood. Seriously? I haven’t TASTED the soup yet and you’re already asking for tip? Few minutes later, my soup was ready and I took it home. I opened the square take out container and my face came from happy to upside down. The amounts of everything single thing: the rice noodles, bean spouts, green onions, etc looked small so I grabbed a small bowl and put the whole entire ingredients including the soup base. I haven’t been this much disappointment then in other restaurants. The so-called LARGE size I ordered was a SMALL size to my view. Even after consuming the soup, it was NOT satisfying at all. Big ripoff and a robbery of $12.48 down the drain for that size! Good thing I didn’t have any money to give the cashier girl the tip. This is definitely NOT worth $12.48 for the “large” size and that goes with the other price for the small size. Greedy, awful services and WAY overpriced food for portion sizes! I will NEVER return and do business with them ever again. Will be the first and LAST visit to that restaurant! I’ll continue go the other Pho restaurant in Harrisburg since their price is cheaper and they give you a bigger portion (both small and large) than this...
Read moreI was going to leave this review after my first visit, but I decided to give it a second chance. Nothing changed. The entire place is run by children with little to no training. I feel like it would be OK having kids run it. Maybe even charming, if they were trained. They don't have any answers to any of my questions about the menu, they seem constantly confused and nervous. The hostess who sat us hated working there. She was so miserable and rude that at one point I felt bad for the kid. But that didn't last long because she was continuously rude the entire visit. Every sentence exchanged with her was dreadful, she made us feel unwelcome. We sat for 10 minutes before we finally had to wave down one of the kids for our drink order. The hostess/waitress was too busy playing with her phone to care about the customers. A family who came in after us also ordered spring rolls as appetizers. But for some reason, they got theirs first. When our soup was ready to be brought out, a boy carried them to us with no tray or hand protection from the scalding hot bowls. He was definitely in pain from the heat. But he clearly didn't learn his lesson, he carried out 3 more bowls of soup in the same manner. I think having to watch it hurt me more than it hurt him. Long story short, the food is mediocre. Overpriced. Staff similar to that of Mcdonalds. At least the place looks really clean. Too bad everything else sucks. I'd rather kiss a toilet seat than return...
Read moreFriendly staff. It was empty when I got there around 5ish. it was filling up by the time I left. The food arrived hot and looked and smelled delicious. The portions were pretty generous. The steak pho was in a very large bowl. The broth was tasty and full of noodles and big slices of steak. It came with all the good stuff on the side; lime, bean sprouts, pepper slices, etc. I also had a pork chop and rice. It came with some add ons too... I think one was the cold sliced skin I've had before. I forget what it's called but it's always a strange texture, for sure. I topped off with a strong coffee with condensed milk. The portions of both dishes were big enough I could make another 2 meals out of them. I'm sharing the leftovers at home. The bathroom was clean as was the restaurant in general. The prices were what you would expect and the quality and portions make it worth it to me. Vietnamese is one of my favorites and I go to a lot of pho shops here and there. I will definitely...
