I went in to what didn't seem to be a very busy restaurant. I have been there when it there was much more business. I was greet quickly and seated at the bar. The bar tender came up and got my drink order right away and asked if I was ordering food. I said yes but would need a minute. She got my drink and I still wasn't ready to place my order. When I was ready my order was taken. All of this happened in a timely manner. The restaurant still not appearing to be too busy.
My appetizer came out promptly. And was very good.
After this things went downhill. With the exception of the bar tender she was awesome and trying to get my order to me repeatedly.
I waited over 45 minutes for my dinner. The bar tender finally got it to me. She was apologetic and even mentioned that I could talk to her manager and that he should bring my food out. (This was before I got it)
I never was approached by the manager, he did come out and walked by me several times but not only did he not say anything to me he wouldn't even make eye contact with me.
My food was not good at all, with the exception of my vegetable. My meat was dry, my other side was like warm at best.
All the while I'm sitting there in my work uniform (food service with my name badge on), trying to enjoy a dinner in between my shifts. I only say that because I get that things happen, but I also know that when I don't meet my customer's expectations I correct it, one way or another. I at very least have a conversation and apologize. Now the bar tender did that, but as a manager I would have taken the time to talk to the customer myself.
I will not be going back to this location, which is sad to me because I have had a lot of good times there and usually have good food.
But I have never been treated so poorly.
I hope this manager does better for the...
Read moreThe only reason I'm giving one star is because of the amazing service from the girl that brought my boyfriend and I our food. Otherwise, I'm super disappointed with my visit to this particular Johnny J's. The food was alright, I guess. I ordered my steak medium rare and well done is an understatement at best for the adjective one would use to describe the desiccated piece of meat that lie defiled in front of me. But this isn't even the worst part. The touchtunes jukebox was offline and upon walking over to it and reading a sign taped to it that read 'Jukebox is unavailable,' I asked our server if she could ask the manager if there was a reason it was 'unavailable.' She happily obliged, and regrettably let me know that she was scolded by her boss for even having asked about it. So, I politely asked her if she could ask her boss to put it online since there wasn't anything wrong with it. I wasn't happy to see how clearly flustered she was when she returned and inform me that she was yelled at this time. She shouldn't have been yelled at for simply completing a customer's request. Later in our meal, she had come back to our table to let us know that her other manager had another reason for why the jukebox was disabled, but I wasn't really concerned about it anymore because by that point I just didn't want her to get in trouble all because I didn't like the music that was playing. Despite the terrible food and the manager's awful taste in music, she tried very hard to make our visit more pleasurable and for this, I give this single...
Read moreI’m writing to express my frustration with a recent experience at your establishment that left me feeling disrespected and undervalued as a regular customer.
Most bars I’ve visited honor a long-standing tradition: when a patron prepays for multiple drinks, the bartender places shot glasses in front of them as a visual cue. It’s a simple, effective system that shows respect for the customer’s time and trust. Unfortunately, your staff chose not to follow this custom.
I asked the barmaid for two drinks upfront. Instead of serving both, she placed a single shot glass in front of me—without my request—and later returned visibly irritated when I asked for the second drink I had already paid for. I didn’t ask for a placeholder. I asked for two drinks. Her reaction was not only confusing but unnecessarily confrontational.
I spend roughly $90 at your bar every Thursday. I’m not asking for special treatment—just the same courtesy and efficiency that other bars consistently provide. If honoring a prepaid drink is too much to ask, especially from a loyal customer, it makes me question whether my business is truly appreciated.
I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously and consider training your staff to respect both bar traditions and the patrons who support your business week after...
