Margarita King Mexican Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Springfield Township

After being inundated with videos of Birria Tacos on Tik Tok for weeks I was thrilled to find a restaurant near our hotel a few weeks ago that served them. I have to admit, I was shocked at how busy both the restaurant & bar were at nearly 8 pm on a Friday evening, especially with Covid guidelines still in place (I'm no covid Karen just stating the facts, it wasn't a concern for me but could be for others). We were seated right away and there we sat - for about 20 minutes even though multiple servers, the host & management walked by multiple times and must have seen the frustration on our faces so eventually someone dropped off chips & salsa. A little while later, just as I was about to walk out, our server, an older woman named Cheryl appeared, no apology for our long wait, started to walk away after we gave her our drink order but we quickly gave her our meal order for fear she would disappear again. I went with the Birria Tacod while hubby got the Vallarta Burrito. Hubby said his was good but after all that longing for a Birria taco ended up with me being disappointed. It basically tasted like pot roast in a taco shell with some oily au jus to dip it in and, to be honest with you, the fact that this item isn't even on the menu (I had to ask for it, I had seen a review about it and a photo, that's the only reason I knew they had it) which makes me wonder how fresh it actually was. Overall I left feeling disappointed, in retrospect, wishing the waitress would have showed up 2 minutes later, after we had walked out. Definitely won't be back, service & food quality was not up to...

I have been there few times recently, I always ordered chicken chimichanga dinner sometimes for lunch or dinner. Went to grove city mall outlets for quick last minute shopping and stop by Margarita King Mexican Grill & Cantina restaurant - This time around I ordered it for dinner late, I was so hungry. Received salsa and chips, salsa was ok. Waiter seem to be in rush but quickly took my order. It seem it took awhile for food to come out, well cooked food. Music was loud. Lettuce was bland, not fresh. Overall, food is ok, not meet my expectations, however, prices are expensive for portion size I got for dinner almost $20 plus tax. Seats are not really comfortable.

After I finished up dinner, I didn’t realize there was 2.5% surcharge everytime you use a credit card when paying bill. Next time I would not use credit card, definitely It’s probably be my last time, I don’t plan on coming back...

Came here with a friend last Saturday and we both really enjoyed it. I got the margarita flight, sampled the mango, peach, raspberry and blue Hawaiian margaritas and they were all very good. For an appetizer I got the create your own cheese dip with chorizo to share and a shrimp quesadilla, all delicious. For my entree I got the Molcajete and it not only was amazing but HUGE, I got a few more meals out of it. It's definitely worth the price. It came with beans, rice, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Their beans are very tasty. For dessert I had the fried ice cream and it was also very good. I also tried the rum runner margarita and our server said that it was a mixture of all of the flavors. It was good but all I could really taste was banana. I can't wait to go back, their food is delicious and they're very friendly and helpful. 10/10 would...
