This was our first outing to a restaurant since the COVID-19 started. Husband and I have been trying to have a “date” night away from an elderly live in relative at least once a month but as stated it has been awhile since we have had the opportunity to do so. We had visited TimberCreek Tap & Table last year while in the area and decided to do so again.
I wish I could say it was a pleasant experience because it was far from that. We were greeted by a lady that was a little abrupt with us and not very friendly. I will have to say that once being seated, it was a little disconcerting to note that the bar menu was a book that was left on the table for anyone to use. How are we to know that it is being cleaned in between customers? We were in a booth that had ample spacing in between stations. There was a tall wall on the side of the walkway across from our booth with others sitting in that area.
Our server was prompt to the table and took our drink orders and I was pleased to notice that she at least wore a mask but did not wear gloves. I also noticed that she was taking care of several tables. I wondered about this as I did not see her clean her hands in between tables.
We were brought a limited menu which was laminated and apparently had just been cleaned as it was a little damp. It was about this time that some small children started loudly voicing their displeasure at being cooped up in the restaurant. This carried on for quite some time but luckily, they departed before our meal was served.
On the previous visit last year, we had ordered an appetizer and a pizza so it was decided that we would do the same again. The Buffalo Chicken Dip was chosen and was brought to our table shortly after ordering. It was at this time that we chose the Pepperoni, Mushroom and Onion Pizza and placed our order for it. The Buffalo Chicken Dip was full of large chunks of chicken and was a hot gooey mess of what I can only guess was cheese, chicken and maybe a few jalapenos. It was not something we will order again.
The pizza came quickly but again, we were disappointed in it. It was not baked completely and the dough was anemic looking in appearance. The pepperoni was huge and was crispy. Quite a difference since 2019! There is a 2019 photo of the pizza and a 2020 photo.
Very disappointing experience so much so that we will probably not return, at least until this virus thing is over. Come on folks, up your game so that people will...
Read moreI visited the Grove City location for lunch one afternoon with my mother. The restaurant was not very busy. Our waitress brought our drinks and disappeared for a while. The hostess asked if we were waiting for someone and we said no, just waiting for the waitress. Finally the waitress came and took our order. It took forever for her to bring us our food. Again its not like our waitress was running around trying to keep up with tables because it was so busy. There weren't many other customers and our waitress was no where to be seen. Finally she came with our food and left again. Never came back to ask how everything was or even ask if we wanted dessert. We finished eating and she still never made an appearance. I went to the restroom and walked passed a booth where other customers were sitting and our waitress was sitting in the booth with them having a conversation. After I used the restroom and was returning to my table, the waitress was still sitting in the booth conversing with these other customers. My mother and I got our stuff and walked up to the hostess and said our waitress is clearly busy and we are ready to leave. The hostess said she couldn't check us out and the waitress must have finally saw us and decided to end her conversation and get up to check us out. I'm sorry but that was some of the worst customer experience I have dealt with. I worked as a waitress for a few years and know that your job is to be attentive to your customers and make them feel welcome and want to come back. I did not feel welcome at this restaurant and I would...
Read moreI was looking forward to trying this location, especially after hearing great reviews of the one in Meadville. So let's start at the beginning, the menu is more on the fine dining end of the scale than I was expecting but I found a burger that looked appealing. So I ordered my burger medium. Expecting a warm pink center, what I received was closer to medium rare. I sucked it up and ate most of a half of the burger. The rarity of the meat didn't bother me as much as the taste of the burger or should I say lack of taste. I tasted no seasoning no marinate. Just ground burger cooked incorrectly. I wasn't the only one in my party unsatisfied with their food. My fiance ordered ribs with mashed potatoes and the ribs were in my opinion over cooked and dry. And the mashed potatoes were tasteless and the gravy reminded me of hamburger gravy. It was weird. My son (8 years old) ordered chicken fingers and french fries. He has ate chicken fingers and french fries at almost every restaurant we have gone to. He always eat them. This time he only at one. How can you mess up that. When our party went to speak with a manager about how unsatisfied we we're with the food and the service. She would not even come to our table to look at the food. She only gave a 25 gift card. Very unprofessional. I will not return to this restaurant. My son made the comment that the bathroom was better then the food. The building and grounds are impressive. Very clean and if they get better management and possibly a new cook I may come back. There was 7 in our party and no one was happy...
