During my recent trip, I had the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, and overall, it provided a comfortable and convenient experience. While it may not boast the luxuries of a higher-end hotel, it still offered several amenities that made my stay enjoyable.
Upon check-in, the staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient, ensuring a smooth process. The lobby area was clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I appreciated the complimentary coffee and tea station available 24/7, which was a nice touch for those in need of a quick pick-me-up.
The room I stayed in was clean and adequately sized for a comfortable stay. The bedding was comfortable, and the pillows provided a decent level of support. The addition of a small desk and chair was convenient for catching up on work or browsing the internet.
The bathroom was clean and stocked with the necessary toiletries. The water pressure in the shower was decent, and the temperature control worked well. However, the bathroom itself felt a bit cramped, with limited counter space and a small shower area.
One area where the hotel excelled was in its complimentary breakfast offering. The morning spread included a variety of options such as cereals, pastries, fruits, yogurt, and hot items like eggs and sausages. The breakfast area was well-maintained, and the staff ensured that items were promptly restocked.
The hotel's location was convenient, with easy access to major highways and nearby attractions. However, the proximity to the highway meant that there was some traffic noise that could be heard from the room, which could be a minor inconvenience for light sleepers.
In conclusion, my stay at the Holiday Inn Express was satisfactory. It offered comfortable accommodations, a friendly staff, and a decent breakfast spread. While it may not offer the same level of luxury as higher-rated hotels, it provided a good value for the price and served as a convenient base...
Read moreChecked in to the hotel on a Thursday evening (around 6). We had 2 rooms reserved. We asked the woman at the desk to split the payment for the rooms on 2 cards. She said we could do that in the morning. But she then took 1 card and put a credit hold on for BOTH rooms which caused our bank to put a fraud stop on the card. No biggie, called bank next day. 2nd day one of the 2 rooms we booked smelled like someone was smoking. A call the front desk and the reply (from a different staff member) was “what am I supposed to do about it?” SERIOUSLY? We leave to do some shopping and return to the hotel to find that our room keys have been deactivated! Go to the front desk and met with more attitude! We are booked for 4 nights, the woman who checked us in only activated the keys for 1 (so I am told) but without asking, this woman says “you know checkout is at 11). Ummmm, yeah on Monday! Now I MUST acknowledge Allison! Allison was helping keep the breakfast moving. Allison was great and should be managing the whole place! I didn’t get the names of the others, frankly they don’t deserve my recognition! The woman who was dayshift had a horrible attitude and should NOT be in the service industry!!!! Your pool was horrible, ice cold and filthy! Like clumps of hair floating in it. The hot tub was not much better! I realize you’re making cosmetic improvements and what you have done so far is nice. But there are obviously corners being cut too, bathroom fixtures aren’t quite secured properly, etc. I was NEVER recognized for my “rewards status”, no big deal to me but we EXCLUSIVELY stay with IHG and have never not been. I also ALWAYS receive a “welcome bonus” but again, not this...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Grove City which I have done time and time again with no issues but this time I feel as if I was taken advantage of. I originally booked for 1 night - checked in and was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded for being a DIAMOND ELITE member. The very next morning I called the front desk to see if I could extend my reservation one night and the girl at the front desk said she thought my room was one of the available rooms so she checked and it was so I was extended for another night. I check out the following morning, grab my receipt and head out on another long drive back home. When I get home I looked at my receipt and I was charged $122 for the first night and a ridiculous $227 for the second night. Had I known they were going to charge me the full rate for the second night, I never would have stayed there or I would have requested a different room. The girl NEVER told me it would be a different rate than what I had booked which feels criminal. I feel taken advantage of and unfortunately because I liked this hotel, I will probably never stay at it again. Remember folks, if you're going to extend your reservation one night, make sure you ask what your rate is going to be because front desk...
