Terrible experience today. I went around 1:15 and there was no one at the counter. I waited for five minutes, which I wasn’t upset about—the rest of the store was really busy and I figured they were helping out somewhere else? Anyway, after asking a few employees I went to customer service to see what was going on, and the lady behind the counter kindly paged the Starbucks associate to the counter. I went back over and she was there, saying she “just needed to go to the bathroom.” She was extremely rude and short. I told her I completely understood, that she deserves to take a break and she snapped back “I went to the bathroom. I didn’t take a break,” and complained that she was the only one there. She made my drink and I told her “thank you” to which I received no response. As I started walking away, she proceeded to complain to the next customer about me and how she couldn’t even “just step away to go to the bathroom.” I understand that you’re short staffed, and can sympathize with that—but that is no reason to take it out on the customer, especially one that is being to be understanding. I ordered a drink and it was made wrong the first time, so I sent it back to be remade and he made it wrong the second time and gave me attitude when I challenged him on if he added the flavor or not. I didn't want to have an anxiety attack from confronting someone about a stupid drink, so I left with my flavorless beverage made with spite.
