AIYARA THAI BISTRO — Restaurant in Springfield

2024 Update: About a year ago we decided to give Aiyara another try and boy are very glad we did! The food was very, very good, with generous portions and very fresh vegetables. Now Aiyara has become our "go-to" Thai place and we order from them about once a month and have always been very pleased with the wonderful food and friendly take-out service. Our favorites are the Yakisoba Noodle and Pad Thai, although their potstickers and spring rolls are also very, very tasty.

Original 2022 review; Disappointing. The Pad Thai so was dry it was hard to swallow without washing it down with a drink of water, and the preparation was very plain (just noodles and a little bit of chicken; no peanuts, no green onions, etc.). The Mee Goreng was flavorful, although a bit too oily. The wontons and but spring rolls were also too oily (the oil obviously wasn't hot enough when they were fried). The Stir Fried with Ginger was tasty, however. The portions were generous and the prices are a bit less than other Thai places in the area, but I don't think we'll be ordering from Aiyara Thai...

While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't outstanding, either.

The location was nice, the atmosphere pleasant, and the inside was clean. They have a large kitchen that you can see into and it was also very clean.

The staff was friendly and greeted us when we entered.

While the restaurant is a solid four stars, I'm taking a star off for our appetizer. We ordered pork dumplings and got potstickers. Not sure if mislabelled or incorrect order, but that's not why the star off. Our appetizer was microwaved and not entirely hot. The rest of the meal was fresh cooked, but the appetizer was microwaved and the quality was bad because of that.

Mostly a good place to have...

Long time lover of the old Aiyara and was excited to know that it was back open under new ownership! Went there yesterday for lunch and was confused because on the door it says “take out only” with any arrow pointing to the take out window. On the take out window, there is a sign that says “come on in, we’re open”. Went to open the door and it was locked. Some lady opened the window and yelled “TAKE OUT ONLY”! I said “sorry I was confused because your sign literally says you’re open and to come in”, and she yelled again “TAKE OUT ONLY” and slammed the window shut. Ok, rude…probably won’t be going back there which makes me sad. Learn how...
