I never thought I would be posting a negative review of Hobby Lobby. About 10 days ago, I purchased a set of chargers to go under plates. They were on a display with a sign that read “50% off all holiday table wear “. There was no other signage on the display. The chargers that I chose were marked $1.99, with a yellow sticker, which at that time meant nothing to me. Since I was buying 30 of them, the difference between paying basically $1 or $2 was significant. After I paid for them and several other items, I checked my receipt, thinking it seemed like a higher amount than I’d expected and found that I was charged the full price for the chargers. I went back in and was met by the manager and told her my issue. She checked the bottom of the charger and pointed out the yellow sticker, stating that this meant that the item wasn’t subject to the sale price. I told her that I thought that was misleading and it should be clearly stated. She apologized and said this was Hobby Lobby’s policy. I emailed Hobby Lobby with my complaint and while thanking me for my feedback so that they could better run their business, basically told me the same thing. I think it’s false advertising and I’m really disappointed in Hobby Lobby. There is a Michael’s down the road from the Hobby Lobby in Springfield, OR and that’s where I’ll be...
Read moreThis morning my uncle and I visited hobby lobby cause he's from out of town and also doe many crafty things. All was well until we were in the checkout line...I was simply trying to assist the cashier...his name is DAVONTE....he's a younger African American man. Super clean cut presente himself very well UNTIL like I said I was helping him by mentioning that the price of the item was on the front side of the tag. Well it was on clearance. . . Amd he said "I KNOW" in an unmistakably rude way and the look he paired it with was terrible to..... then he went on to say...."I'm just checking to see if the clearance tag actually belongs on this item or if it was placed their by you." How very very rude. We spent almost $200 today and I promise had the items we stopped for not been 100% necessary...I would have walked out of there and not spent one Red cent. I said to my uncle "damn that was so rude" ....I am blown away by the level of disrespectful behavior shown to me by this young man. I will NOT be revisiting this hobby lobby .... I'll gladly drive to Albany. ...
Read moreAssistant store manager that was working there when I came in was very unprofessional. Def needs training. Came in in 04-17-18 at 3.30pm . Please train your staff to be better. The staff in general is very rude and unhelpful! Coming from the manager side in the retail world bad customer service is just a NO GO!!! Hobby lobby needs to be on top of keeping g their merchandise organized. Happens quiet often that several of the same item are located in a sale section and then you come to the register to find out they aren't on sale for what they are advertised for. Assistant manager refused to honor the 50% off it was advertised for. It rang up 40% I don't care about the darn 10% but the right thing to do would have been to honor it. It drIves me crazy when there is horrible customer service. Maybe I'll rather go to Michaels down the road since they are more up beat and friendly then most of the employees hobby lobby hires. Given the fact hobby lobby is a Christian store they sure don't act very kind in there....
