It's really hard to write this review I don't like giving poor reviews. We went to original roadhouse tonight and ordered the same thing that we get every time. tonight we ordered ribeye, medium rare and it came rare. I ate around the edges but by the time I got to the completely rare Center, which had over half the steak left, I couldn't do it anymore 2 bites in, I told my partner, "I need to tell them what's going on and I definitely don't want them to re-cook the same steak as it's already cut open and will lose the juices and be dry," 25 minutes later and our server has still not checked back in with us, we were never offered a refill on our drink, at this point I had eaten my sides I needed to leave for work. I waited for her to come around And when she finally did she tried to take our plates away, I pulled them back from her and let her know that we were disappointed, and she offered to remake them. I let her know that remaking them was not what I wanted, and I was disappointed that I had to cook these steaks at home to get them to the proper level of doneness
, she went to talk to her manager and came back with a free appetizer coupon. I let her know that we don't do appetizers and that was not helpful. She went to get her manager who came over and all but called me a liar. The manager asked if she came back and checked on how her steaks were, which she had not. The manager asked me Two more times "you're saying she didn't come over and check on your steaks" both times I repeated "no she did not" the manager then stacked the open to boxes on top of each other, putting the dirty table germs right on top of one of our steaks! and then said "I'll take care of your bill because this is my house and that's what I'm gonna do but I'm also gonna take these steaks." I had to pry the to go boxes back out of her hands and expressed to her yet again, " I do not want you to take care of the bill. I just like some accountability on the fact that nobody came to check in with us." The lady offered to throw our steaks back on the grill. I let her know, as I had the server, That I intended to take them home and to cook them to the proper done. She said "well we don't want you to do that you can have us re-cook them here." I expressed to her that I was full from eating my sides and did not have time to wait for them to re-cook it, as we had been there over an hour, I also expressed that if you re-cook them I won't be able to get them to the right done-ness and I will reheat them at home. She then took care of the whole bill and walked away. I never wanted her to take care of the bill, which I let her and the server both know multiple times, I would've appreciated a discount on the bill . I ended up leaving a $20 cash tip but overall we probably will...

Read moreUnfortunately we will not be returning here and the truly sad part is I like the food, but my mother and I go there a couple times whenever she is in town but on our last visit last week all the tables had little gaming tablets on them and though odd we thought nothing of it. At the end of the meal we tried to pay and were informed that the little computer screen was our payment method. Perplexed we inquired about the use of cash, paper money. The server kindly said that he would be able to take cash so we handed him a Benjamin. To which he looked concerned but did take it and left. After a few minutes he returned and told us he had to "go to the back to get change". After a couple minutes more he returned with the change and said that there wasn't three cents in the whole restaurant or on any of the other servers but he did find a nickel. Now I really like a lot of the food here but cashless restaurants are offense to both me and my mother. The fact that he made it clear that they weren't expecting to making change for a large bill was ridiculous. I will not be able to return or recommend this place to anyone anymore only because I will not be put in a situation where I am forced to pay with plastic or my phone. Sorry but cash is king and if you cannot or would prefer not to accept it than please put a large disclaimer on your main entrance. Disappointed and will be looking for a new place to dine at when my mother comes for a visit.
P.S. Server we will call S is the best in all of town it really is a shame we won't get to...
