I will never forget the very first time I went to Applebee's, over ten years ago. I did not like their food at all. I gave it another try several years later and loved it. It has since changed again, however, they have great selections on the menu and it remains one of my favorite chain restaurants to eat at.
My favorite thing to get here are the chicken wontons (extra cilantro), their Mediterranean rice bowl with chicken, and their crispy chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. I usually ask for extra cilantro with my wontons. A few times I've gotten parsley instead but fortunately I know the taste of cilantro and they usually correct it. They both look the same so it's easy to confuse them. I also like their loaded nachos. My favorite used to be their chili nachos but they don't have it on the menu anymore. They have ground beef which was good but a bit greasy. Their shredded pork nachos were a bit too greasy as well. I used to love their steaks (when Food Network chef Tyler Florence did their menu years ago) but the recipe has changed since. It is no longer marinated in a sealed bag so it isn't as flavorful. There ribs are excellent. The chicken and boneless chicken are also good. I recently tried their new garlic parm butter boneless chicken and it was really good.
The dining area is always clean. Service is good. Depending on the day of the week, such as holidays or busy extended weekends wait periods are usually short. They have curbside for to go. Staff are always friendly. They have a full bar and have drink specials, a half-off appetizer menu (between select hours), and "2 for the price of.." food specials. There's plenty parking....
Read moreThis Applebees that is located on Boston Road in Springfield MA is complete and utter disgrace to the Applebees franchise! This is the second time that I have ordered from here and received BURNT disgusting food! This is the Bourbon Street Chicken and shrimp that I ordered! Take a look at the picture! Who would serve this to ANYONE? Let alone a PAYING CUSTOMER!! This is utterly disgusting! You spend your hard earned money, to treat yourself to a dinner and have this be what someone serves you! I am truly disappointed with this location and this franchise! I know this post may not do much in ways of hurt the money going into these owners pockets, but we are living in very difficult times for many Americans! So I am posting this for the person who has their hard earned money, and maybe thinking about stopping by this location to treat themselves to a meal! This is my advice!! DON’T!!! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT THIS LOCATION! Keep driving and find another restaurant that takes pride in not only what they do but what they serve! And trust me there are plenty options! Try your best not to make the mistake I did stopping at the APPLEBEES on Boston Road in...
Read moreI love Applebee's. I usually go there once a day for a couple Blue Moons and a bite to eat. Been doing that for over four years now. Never ran out of Blue Moon. I go more for that than the food. For some reason, management has changed. I wasn't broke, it didn't need fixing. Since new management, they have ran out of Blue Moon 5 times now. It happens every 3 weeks. It's the only one they run out of. The fourth time it happened, I was told that no one knew who was supposed to order it so everyone pointed the finger at each other. I was assured that there was one person now doing the ordering and this shouldn't happen now. They ran out again yesterday for the 5th 3week cycle in a row. After years of going daily, today I am somewhere else that has Blue Moon. Apparently, keeping the most popular selling beer on tap stocked is impossible for the new management. One of my favorite bartenders just walked because of them. There was an employee outburst in the dinning room that never happened under old management. Again, this place wasn't broke, there was no need for 'fixing'.......now...
