Golden Corral - A Dining Experience for Everyone
Golden Corral delivers an all-you-can-eat dining experience with a wide array of choices to suit every palate. From the moment you walk in, the system is simple and efficient. The cashier greets you warmly, takes your payment based on meal time (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), and asks if you'd like cash back for tipping your server—a thoughtful touch that encourages generosity for the attentive staff.
Once inside, you grab your plate from the central buffet island and head to one of the five food sections: Classic American, Asian, Mexican, Salads, and Desserts. This layout ensures there’s something for everyone. The tables are neatly stocked with napkins, condiments, and sauces like Texas Pete hot sauce and Golden Corral steak sauce, adding convenience to your meal.
The dining areas are spacious, with tables for four or six, and one section designated for larger gatherings. Patrons seem to naturally respect the space, though you can reserve it with the manager if needed. Golden Corral clearly caters to families and groups, offering a welcoming atmosphere and ample seating.
Plate 1: Classic Flavors
For my first plate, I enjoyed steak, mashed potatoes, General Tso’s chicken, pulled pork, corn, and a slice of pizza. Everything was delicious, especially the steak, which was cooked to perfection. The corn could have used a pinch of salt, but that’s an easy fix. The variety made this plate a satisfying start.
Plate 2: Southern Comfort
My second plate included bourbon chicken, more steak, meatloaf, and cornbread. The bourbon chicken was a standout—flavorful, tender, and perfectly glazed. The meatloaf, topped with a tangy sauce, was hearty and nostalgic, while the cornbread was light and sweet, a perfect complement to the savory items.
Plate 3: Sweet Endings
For dessert, I tried a carrot cake, fudge-covered brownie, and an oatmeal cookie. Each item was indulgent and satisfying, but the carrot cake stood out with its moist texture and rich cream cheese frosting. The brownie was decadently chocolatey, and the oatmeal cookie offered a softer, homier sweetness.
Attentive Service
Throughout the meal, the servers were exceptional. They checked in to refill drinks and cleared plates promptly whenever I went back for more. Their consistent attentiveness ensures a seamless dining experience. I’d recommend leaving a dollar or more per plate cleared as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work.
Family-Friendly Atmosphere
Golden Corral attracts families for good reason. The buffet format means food is available immediately—perfect for hungry children or adults. There’s no waiting for prep or cleanup, making it a hassle-free experience. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the variety and quantity of food. It’s easy to see why this place is so popular among families.

BIGGER MISTAKES
1.) At least every 5 plates there was 1 which was chipped and cracked. WHY? 2.) Orange Chicken was soggy and only a third full. Servers should have been switching them out at least every hour, regardless. Only saw servers switching out Salad Bar area. 3.) IMPORTANT ONE They fry everything in Canola Oil instead of Vegetable Oil; which leaves a nasty taste to any fried Vegetables. Canola Oil is good for MEAT preparation and seasoning for the richness from the oil. Only Vegetable Oil is fantastic for fried Vegetables because of the neutral taste; so the customer can taste the vegetables. Especially fried Okra and Zucchini. Even the Fries tasted nasty from Canola Oil. My wife and I nearly got sick from the Canola Oil. Read your other customer's negative comments about taste. STOP using Canola Oil... It's that simple. 4.) The grill should have already been cleaned for the 4pm Dinner Buffet. Nope, they decided to just scrap the burnt gristle and move it to the side; then started cooking steaks for the 4pm Dinner Buffet. 5.) My Wife had a long black hair mixed in with the Cabbage. Cabbage was boiled at least.

Read more2 years ago I left a glowing review of this restaurant. My family travels almost 2 hours from RI to come here for special occasions. We haven't been back until today. And I am so disappointed. The prices went up by a few dollars per person, but unfortunately the quality of my experience did not reflect the price increase. Cold food. Food empty and not being replaced enough to meet demand. Plates and bowls coming out that were NOT clean. The chocolate fountain? Now it's a big old chocolate BOWL that anyone can dip whatever they want in. Completely unsanitary. The place was extremely crowded and while they made us wear masks and gloves when handling the tongs, what is the point of that when the seating is so close together I could hear people behind me chewing?
Not related to the staff, but the clientele was extremely rude. Cutting in line, letting little kids run amok with no supervision, taking the whole tray of food for themselves so no one else could get any. The staff tried to do an announcement over the intercom but the audio was so garbled and the customers so loud I couldn't even hear what was being said. People acting like that movie The Platform trying to get dibs on fresh food that took 20 minutes to be replaced.
Not to be rude myself, but this place knows their clientele: they're not small people. Many people were very large, and the way seating is laid out means you can barely fit between tables to walk up to the buffet. I must have had my arm grazed by at least 15 different butts trying to squeeze by me.
90% of these issues could be solved with lowering seating capacity and hiring more experienced staff. Especially a dishwasher. And I can tell you're understaffed in general because the Manager was helping to bus tables. How is he supposed to do his job when he has to pick up the slack for others? Do better, Golden Corral. We know you can...
