Worth Every Mile - A Biscuit Dream Come True!

Let me just start by saying this: driving 45 minutes from White Plains, MD was totally worth it! Honestly, I don't mind going the distance for great food--and this spot? Oh man, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I ordered the honey chicken, egg & cheese biscuit, and oh my stars, it was unreal. I even asked for a side of extra honey just for dipping the biscuit--and wow, it was like dipping clouds in sunshine. The biscuit itself? Massive. Like, imagine four McDonald's biscuits all stacked into one glorious beast of breakfast. No joke.

The chicken was perfectly fried--crispy on the outside, juicy and seasoned just right on the inside. My egg had that ideal touch of runny yolk (just enough gooeyness!) without being undercooked, and the cheese was melted into everything like it was holding the whole flavor party together. I couldn't even finish the thing--it was that big. But trust me, I tried.

My wife had the sausage, egg & cheese biscuit and immediately declared it the best biscuit she's ever had--and this woman has taken me to some top-tier breakfast joints in North Carolina. This place was right up there, maybe even better. Her sausage patty was cooked to perfection--none of that overcooked hockey puck nonsense some places serve--and the cheese and egg were melty magic all over again.

Our daughter went with a cheeseburger (just cheese and ketchup--she keeps it classic), and it looked like something off a commercial--cooked just right. She also tried the chicken salad, which was super fresh and generously portioned. No stingy scoops here!

We haven't tried the cupcakes yet (red velvet and vanilla frosted--we've got high hopes), but if the breakfast is any indication, I expect dessert heaven.

Even our Yorkiepoo got a treat! We picked up one of the doggie biscuits (not the human kind, obviously), and it was about a third her size. Watching her try to conquer it should be fun to see!

We rolled in around 10:45 on a Sunday, and while it wasn't packed, they were clearly staying busy with takeout orders. Still, the wait was super reasonable--about 15 minutes--and the staff was friendly, smiling, and on top of everything. Just good vibes all around. The space was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, and there's a cute little outdoor seating area with a nice view of the street. Plus, it's tucked right near an Aldi and a mall, so it's easy to find.

Bottom line: great food, fair prices, friendly people, and a biscuit that's basically a whole event. We'll definitely be back for the flavor, the chill vibe, and the joy of finding a new favorite breakfast spot. And as always,...

This place is absolutely solid!!

Upon entrance, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly. Got there later in the evening, so the place was packed.

Got to the counter pretty quickly to order and sat down for just a few minutes, but as I was sitting, I was thinking the food was going to take a while based on the amount of people in the restaurant. Didn’t even have enough time to stretch my legs before they called my name for my order. Had to confirm with the person at the counter that there wasn’t another person with my name as they had prepared the food so quickly.

My first thought after getting the food was, “will the quality be there?” The bag was hot, but what fast food bag isn’t when first getting the food? Went to the table to confirm I had everything before walking out and pulled out a bag which I thought contained my honey chicken biscuit. Thought to myself, this is a pretty small biscuit as I started off to my car. Got to the car, set up my tray and started removing my food from the bag and discovered what I thought was my sandwich was actually a bag of fries!! Fries were not necessarily anything special, but they were prepared to my liking. I pulled my chicken biscuit from the bag and it had way more weight to it than what I was expecting??????? I was confused, and again, I thought, “will the quality be there?” This thought is because typically, when food is made bigger, quality most of the time suffers as restaurants can’t proportion ingredients in such a way that a larger meal items don’t suffer from poor taste.

I unwrapped the covering and the biscuit seemed to have been prepared perfectly! The biscuit was huge, soft, flakey and dripping with honey. I had to add bacon and cheese to get that needed flavor as though it was breakfast time (but it was actually dinner time). I bit into the biscuit and the flavors I tasted are unexplainable!! The honey was the needed sweet touch, the chicken was crunchy, juicy and flavorful, the bacon was crunchy in the right spots and soft in the right spots at the same time!!?? Every single thing in and on that biscuit was as if a chef had come down from heaven, just to prepare this biscuit for me to experience, just so that I could know what heavenly food tasted like!!

I don’t know how such a large biscuit was of such perfect quality, but this place has figured it out & perfected it!

My hat goes off to the chef (even if they are a divine being and not a real human)!!

I would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

The name “Best Buns” really does...

Title: Best Buns: A Story of Flavor, Friendship, and Fabulous Service

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

When I tell you I am an AVID Best Buns connoisseur, believe it—it's in my blood! If I tried to recount the entire story of how I stumbled upon this gem, it would take longer than this review allows. Just know, it's the best discovery ever. Sure, I could rave about their clever name, their delectable food, or even those literal best buns—no pun intended. But that’s not even close to the best part. What really sets them apart is... their SERVICE.

Mind you, I come almost an hour away from Maryland all the way to Virginia, just for this. And not just occasionally, but super often. It's because of the people I'm about to shout out to. They have the best crew out of all the Best Buns locations—Raven (Ravyn), Natalie, Mary Anne, and Ashley.

Raven is the most patient, caring person, and offers the best customer service I’ve ever seen—AND she doesn’t even take tips! You can tell she absolutely loves what she does, and it shows through her interactions with her colleagues and customers alike. I feel this welcoming energy every time she's there. I'm pretty picky when it comes to ordering food, but she takes her time and makes me feel special. She listens to my boring stories with a smile and knows my order by heart. She looks out for my friends when we come and greets us like old pals. Even when I call to check on my cinnamon rolls or their availability, I can feel her vibrant energy over the phone. It's intoxicating. When I walk in, she makes me feel like I'm part of the royal court. She always checks in on how I'm doing and genuinely makes my day better.

Natalie can instantly turn a frown into a grin and a grin into a smile. She is so down to earth, and her presence adds a sparkle to Best Buns that you just have to experience. Natalie has become one of my closest friends there—you'd be lucky to meet her. Mary Anne is super chill and nails her job to a T. Don't mess with her when it comes to the jam, though; she does not budge, but trust me, it’s worth every penny. The whole crew at the Springfield location is literally the best. I also love the Tysons location; those are my favorites, nothing against the Arlington spot though—I've only been there once, but their service was impeccable too.

Overall, I highly recommend Best Buns before you leave this earth. It’s a 100 out of 10, 10...

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars I frequent the Great American restaurants, so I had high hopes for this location. I went in knowing it’s more of a quick bite/grab and go type place. In that sense, it’s a great place to grab a quick and easy bite for lunch. The lady who was taking orders at the register was a delight (5 stars). But this location is more like a cousin to the Great American Restaurants, not a sister. Everything was served fresh and clean, but it’s with the flavor of the content that fell short for me. - The hot honey chicken sandwich (that I requested subbed on a biscuit) was not “hot” at all. It was a regular chicken biscuit. There was also way too much biscuit compared to the small pieces of chicken. I ended up taking off half the biscuit. - The chicken salad sandwich was fresh, but the flavor was very egg-y and a little too savory for a chicken salad. The bread was great and there was plenty of greens, so balance was great, but wasn’t too much a fan of the notes in the actual chicken salad. - The penne pasta in the grab and go was decent. - I was really looking forward to the lemon cupcake, but ended up preferring the vanilla cupcake with some of the lemon cupcake frosting added on top. The lemon cupcake by weight was much heavier than the vanilla cupcake, so initially I thought it was filled. The lemon cupcake was a bit too forward with the lemon as if it was soaked in lemon syrup. Overall would come back for the cupcakes when the craving hits. I’ll have to try other dishes in the future to see if maybe other dishes are their specialties. Their salads did seem very hearty and filling.

Fresh croissants, tasty brekkie sandos and fast service. This place just opened and I was one of the first in & I have to say I hope they maintain their standards. You walk into the foyer and it’s separately warmed and welcoming as you enter. It’s very bright, clean and organized inside and ordering is straight forward. The lady who took my order was very pleasant but obviously still figuring out the register / payment system. My card failed a few times to be read by the reader but after some fumbling around it eventually worked. The hustle and bustle in the back was impressive - as there were maybe 10-15 folks quickly working to bake and assemble made to order sandwiches. The BEC breakfast sandwich was buttery and delicious and large enough for two to share. The muffin top was a favorite of my kid (it’d be great if they just sold the top on its own). The ham and cheese croissant was fresh and buttery once I warmed it up at home for 15 seconds in the microwave. The chai out latte was a little bland and lacking flavor for my taste compared to one similarly at Starbucks. They got me out of there quick, from time of order to walking out the door it was about 6.5 minutes. Much like Mike’s it’s obvious this place has higher standard than most bakeries in the area. I’ll definitely be back often. I can’t wait to try their burgers next!
