I visited Coco Rico last night with my son. I ordered a 1/2 chicken dinner and we found hair on the chicken. I politely went to the front to tell the gentlemen at the register that I found a hair in my food. He responded "that was strange" and "it's probably your hair." I was shocked by his response. I told him the hair does not belong to me. He didn't even look up at me or give me any eye contact. He then turns to the cooks and yells "She says there is hair in the food and that is strange that does not happen here". Then rudely asked me if i wanted another plate of chicken. I declined the chicken. I explained to him as the guest I am letting you know your product has a problem. Instead of being rude and disrespectful you should handle the situation and just apologize for the issue. That was all i was looking for as the guest. I was not looking for money or more food I'm just informing them of their hairy chicken. I will never go back to this establishment after being treated less than a person. I find it astonishing this gentleman continues to be employed in the...
Read moreWe always go to this location, they usually have great chicken, there have been some misses but mostly ok. Mum and dad went to have dinner on Thursday, awful service from the staff up front, a man named Jose. Mom asked for a paper plate, Jose refused to give her one and served her on a foam plate and had a very rude attitude towards her. When dad started eating the chicken it had a foul smell. They are serving putrid old rotting chicken! when dad went to talk to Jose, asked him to give him another piece of chicken, Jose refused again and asked why, dad told him to smell it, it smells rotten, Jose said he can't do that (smell the chicken?) Dad complained about it telling him they're selling old rotten chicken and Jose finally gave dad another piece. We really liked this chicken, but lately it has been going downhill in quality and service, we won't be coming back. Also beware, they will be moving to a new location on Commerce St, next to Dunkin' doughnuts, don't be fooled, it will be...
Read moreWe have been coming here (old location +new) for more than 12 yrs and it is by far one of our top 3 favorite "eat out" joints. The staff is awesomely friendly & professional and the food is really really good. A few ethnically different varieties to pick from all delicious and all captivating. The two things we find a bit inconvenient are: 1) Sometimes the music played on the speakers gets a bit too loud which makes talking to others or hearing them difficult which forces the person to speak loud & come off as yelling. 2) on rare occasions the chicken (dark meat) comes out on the dry side (I'd rather not speculate on the reasons) & the french fries as well come out not as fresh as expected (again, on rare occasions). As I said in the beginning, it is one of our favourite places and we have been coming to it for years but our loyalty to them is stemming from the family atmosphere and the friendliness as well as tje delicious...
