The store was a little busy last night however, nothing chaotic for the associates to act as they did. Unfortunately the terrible service was from the oldest staff member in his 50’s maybe, not the young staff members. A couple that was two people ahead of us asked for samples. The young associate gladly offered them. They made their choices and purchased their selection. The old associate asked if he rang their orders up and he said no. Later in my comments you will understand what he meant. The next couple came thru and placed their orders. The older gentleman was curt and rushed. It was our turn and it was the same. We waited for our order. The group after us asked if they could sample some flavors and they were told it was going to be almost $2 a spoon. It’s a $1.99 for a double scoop cone. I just shook my head. I have never heard of charging for samples, limiting how many choices you get maybe but not charging for samples. That should be figured in on the cost of goods. We received our order and went home. Our Strawberry shortcake had freezer burn and then strawberries were frozen. It had an odd taste. I called back to tell the manager of our experience and all we were told was being it back with the receipt that we threw away at the register and they would replace it. I had already drove home and asked if they could provide a gift certificate and my daughter that lived close could pick it up. The answer was no, we don’t do that and that there wasn’t anything more they could do. I was not offered I am sorry and was made to feel I inconvenienced his time. Needless to say Braum’s has lost my business, which we frequented that location often due to it being close to my daughters apartment. Lack of customer service and just being kind. I also had to select a star to post, no stars deserved for this...
Read moreWe have visited this same Braums over the course of the past 5 years and things have gotten significantly worse over time. We usually order the same thing every time, a chocolate malt. It started out that the price for a large was in the mid-$3.00 range when we first began purchasing from Braums. The price at that time wasn’t terrible for the convenience of having a chocolate ice-cream blended up with some malt added, but even at that time, we were never totally satisfied with the service at this particular location. However, since we live not far away, the convenience outweighed the level of service. Our main complaint at that time was the fact that the cup would have chocolate all over it, literally dripping off. This can be terrible for a driver who ends up accepting a cup in this manner since the outcome is sticky hands. This experience has never been remedied by this particular Braums location. So after a year or so, that price eventually went up to around an additional $.50 or so more for the exact same large size malt to $4.19, after tax. We have also noticed yet another unacceptable feature to the “chocolate malt”. Our ice cream is more of a chocolate milk texture and has very little overall malt taste. Mind you, nothing has changed in it, the size didn’t get larger just ice-cream and malt mix and yet the same discouraging service. So we stopped visiting Braums and just decided to go without. Tonight, at just a spur of the moment idea, my wife asked me to stop at Braums to get a chocolate malt just like we used to enjoy. As a surprise...now the price has climbed to a raging $5.72! Same cup, same melted chocolate milk texture, very little malt, dripping off an unclean cup, for almost $6.00. Just gonna say: Never again. Thank you but no. God bless you on your...
Read moreI'll start off by saying that we love the Braum's on Sunshine. It's always delicious. So when we were down in this part of town, we stopped at this location for dinner. It was extremely disappointing.
I ordered a burger and fries, and a shake. I wanted a medium shake. I didn't say medium. The cashier didn't ask. So I ended up with a small shake. I checked my receipt and I'd paid for a small shake so whatever, not a big deal. But apparently, when I said "Can you make that a malt instead of a shake?", the cashier heard "Extra malt... actually, just go ahead and fill the bottom of the cup with malt and make sure it doesn't get blended in." They sound similar, I can see the confusion.
I started with fries. They were cold and soggy... like they'd been left under a heat lamp for a couple hours. Except I'd then expect them to at least be warm. Maybe someone set them down and forgot about them... then found them for my order. I'm not sure.
The burger was decent. I have no complaints there. The malt I described some but couldn't get over the malt powder collected at the bottom with all my peanut butter cups so I gave the rest to my wife. As she was eating it, she found two nasty hairs in it. She went to the bathroom and threw up the chicken sandwich she ate... although to their credit, she said the sandwich was good while she was eating it.
On her way out, she told the manager about the fries and the hair and the manager said "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that"... so at least they were sorry about it I guess.
We'll make sure to hit the one on Sunshine from now on though. It's worth the extra drive. I hope their quality doesn't start...
