The Roost Bar & Grill (Cox Rd) — Restaurant in Springfield

Review update- We got some take out from the Roost, it was not great. I got the fish & chips. The fish had a weird smell, I thought it might be a seasoning. I tried a couple bites and it was awful. I'm 99% sure the fish was spoiled as I smelled the inside of the fish and it smelled rotten. The chips or waffle fries were good but I only got a few, mostly bits and pieces that were burned. It looked like the bottom of the frier basket. Not good. (See photos of to go order) I really want to like The Roost, they have a good atmosphere. I'm gonna leave them at 3 stars but they didn't earn it today.

Original review- I have had good food at the Roost Bar & Grill. They have a decent atmosphere for watching sports. Today we were watching the Kc Chiefs, go Chiefs. I had the Nachos today. They weren't good as the chips were so salty. 😖 I don't know how to describe how salty they were. I ordered a soda to try to cut the salt taste, which helped. But I couldn't finish them. Maybe it was a fluke but the table next to us had the nachos as well and they didn't eat very much of theirs either. My wife had the chicken strips with Roost fries which were actually large potato wedges and fried green beans. She liked the green beans and the chicken was fine. The staff was super friendly and attentive, the bathrooms were very clean. Also, if you're interested... see my photos- the bartender was a dead ringer for NFL QB Baker...

Be very careful when ordering things off their menu. Got VERY sick. Ingredients are added to food that is not listed on the menu FOR THE CUSTOMER TO BE AWARE OF! I became violently ill after ingesting Parmesan cheese that was sprinkled on my steamed broccoli. Placed in a white to go cup with stem side up, so I never saw anything on the broccoli And until after eating some of it. It wasn’t easy to tell that it was sprinkled on the broccoli by the way. NOWHERE on the menu does it list ANYTHING added to steamed broccoli. As a disabled combat veteran with injuries from the Afghanistan war I became very ill after one bite of something from this restaurant that I had no knowledge of because it WASNT LISTED ON THEIR MENU! I reached out to the owner directly and explained the situation to him, and I never got any sort of a response. He read it but no decency to acknowledge they made a mistake. Their management was dismissive and rude when I brought it to their attention that it was not listed on the menu anywhere. Somehow, it was my fault. I ordered steamed broccoli, not steamed broccoli with Parmesan. Due to the disregard for the situation.. we won’t spend money here.. or any place Mike has affiliation. Thanks Mike! What’s your generic response to save face gonna be? You had the opportunity to be decent however,...

Atmospheres good low lighting I like that late at night or after 6:00 7:00 in the evening. I love their Pizza they have their Pizza special which is outstanding I just fell in love with it from the first time I got it I have to go there at least every other week and get one my husband has tried the wings the chicken alfredo he said that was all right he's tried the beef tacos or the steak tacos they were really good. They're hamburgers are excellent we tried the toasted raviolis the fried mushrooms the onion rings there's nothing on the menu that we've tried so far that we would not highly recommend next time I go I'm going to be brave and I am going for the fish and chips it sounds really good and it looked good from somebody else having it at the next table the staff is outstanding they help you in every way that they can the mixologist knows what he's doing or she whichever is on duty great drinks hat goes off to the chef they also have an Italian sandwich which really was good I took it for lunch the next day and it was still nice fresh they even have a game room big screen TVs everywhere so you can watch all kinds of sports or whatever everything's on something different if you want to go out and feel like you're at home and have a wonderful time and a good meal that is a place to be...
