I got my engagement ring & wedding band from giganti & giganti in Springfield, IL. We have had such a disappointing & dishonest experience with them multiple times since our purchases. Finding a ring was no issue at all but about a month after the wedding I decided I wanted to have my rings soldered together. I took my rings & they told me it would be a very quick turn around time, maybe a day or so. It had been two weeks & I had called several times to check in, each time getting a different answer (itâs not done yet, itâs done but needs two jewelers to look at it, jewelers not in today, etc) I finally decided to go in & look at it for myself. When I get there I said I was picking up my rings & they handed it to me & said everything went perfect. I got to the car only to realize they had soldered them together completely crooked, & not just a little crooked, when my diamond from my engagement ring was straight up on my finger,my wedding band was sideways (Iâll attach pictures). Im not sure if they genuinely didnt think id notcie?? After fixing the issue I was with a friend a couple weeks later & we decided to get our rings cleaned at another jewelry store. The attendeant at the desk came back & said he was unable to clean mine because 3 of the diamonds on my wedding band were extremely loose & one was on the brink of falling out. So.. I went back to giganti & they said theyâd fix it, when they brought it back out they were still loose (maybe one Diamond had been tightened?) & the ladies at the desk were almost refusing to help me from this point saying they are not loose when i could literally wiggle them out with my fingers. I thought maybe i was crazy & they could see something i couldnât so i got another opinion & yes, they were still loose. The jeweler/owner finally took it back & tightened them, again!! & brought it out to me. Didnt say a word to me or a sorry or anything. & to add to all of this, while I was standing at the counter another couple came in & complained of her rings being messed up after they soldered hers.. Never...
Read moreI donât even wanna give them any stars. Literally just had the worst encounter with a retail owner in my life. Me and my husband got married a month ago and ordered his ring 3 months prior to the wedding and when he got it in after we picked out (mind you he got sized when we did that) it was too big so I took it back and told them a half size smaller should work. They had to order a new one cause tungsten canât be resized so we waited a couple weeks again to get the new one and it was still too big so I sent HIM back to get sized and order yet another new one. Maybe they told him but not one worker there has ever mentioned to me a shipping fee. On top of not being told, why was it might fault we had 3 different rings and they couldnât get it to fit right after him being sized twice. It was hard enough with his schedule to get him in there, so I told the girl I didnât really wanna pay for shipping politely cause confrontation isnât for meâŚshe went and got the owner and he came out and said âhere take the ring and we will just wave the 50â slamming it on the counter in front of me and being unbelievably rude while having people in the store. Not only did he embarrass a paying customer, Iâm sure he made everyone else in the store uncomfortable. My next concern was what happens if this doesnât fit again after being sized, he said it would cost 50 dollars again and I need to have him come in. Felt like I was getting no where and arguing in public which was uncomfortable. I told him we have a hard schedule and donât live here so this has been really inconvenient in the first place and for someone traveling to your store to purchase something youâd think you would be a little more understanding and reasonable. It was literally the worst I ever have been treated while trying to purchase something that isnât inexpensive. I REFUSE to buy anything there again and highly recommend others to find a more caring and professional place to buy jewelry. I am still mind blown at the way I was just treated by the...
Read moreI took my engagement ring (family diamonds) to this store. First they stretched it so it would fit. Within an hour of picking it up, while sitting at my desk, a diamond fell out. When I took it back they apologized and said it was too thin to hold the diamonds in. I asked why no one told me this when I asked to get it stretched. One of the older gentlemen apologized and ended up taking the diamonds out to have a solitaire diamond ring per my request free of charge. After this encounter I wanted to give them a second chance, since they willingly fixed the first mistake. I then took all the diamonds and my drawings into the store to show them the custom design I wanted. They said it would be easy, no problem. I then left the diamonds and everything there while I deployed, so when I got home I would have my rings back. I was gone for 6 months. I told them several times I was deployed, I had friends, and my fiance to call to see if it was being worked on and when it would be done. I also had emailed one of the employees to see what was going on because I was told that I would have a wax ring to look at to make sure it was what I wanted. I never heard back until my fiance finally called and was upset. I got an email about 4 months after leaving saying they tried calling and they needed payment. Longer story short, poor communication. Poor customer service. My fiance went to pick up the ring and diamonds and they threw them across the counter to him and then continued to work with another customer. He turned around calmly and asked if there was anything they could discuss to maybe remedy this, their comment was, you wanted your stuff so there it is. I will never go back into this store, as well as friends and family are now very upset and will not be back. We like to help support local small businesses but this is one we will not be supporting. We ended up at a different local diamond store, and I had the ring done and back in less...
