To preface- I used to have good experiences at this place a long time ago but April 8th 2023 was terrible maybe management changed? And I don’t really blame my stylist exactly- more the whole BJ Grand system and the checkout staff. Since it was close to my birthday, I decided to book a special conditioning treatment that was labeled $47 online when I checked out. I had a phone call asking me to come 45 mins in advance so I could get my hair blow dried in time. At the salon, I had the treatment and then was told that I couldn’t have my hair completely dried and that it would be an extra $50 (not even including straightening) and they didn’t have time anyways after I even came earlier. My stylist said, oh since I didn’t do one of the parts of your conditioning treatment I’ll make it even cheaper. I was okay with leaving with wet hair as she implied it would be cheaper than my booked price. So I leave with my pretty much wet hair and then was told at the front I owe $123 for a conditioning treatment with wet hair (again my online appointment was booked at $47 and my stylist said it should be even cheaper) I go back and forth with the beyond confused and judging me staff and then they said oops okay actually it is $63. They seem to guess arbitrarily with the price? I still ask, “what happened to the quoted $47?” And they said “well we don’t update our online prices.” So I left spending close to $75 dollars after tip with wet frizzy hair. Kind of cried a bit in my car as this was super disappointing and wasted money and I looked worse than when I came in. Extremely upset with this business and I will not be going back nor recommending it unless they can do something about this- no need to pay a bunch of money to be treated...
Read moreI can go into how awful my haircut is but my issue is how poorly the salon handled it. When I first booked, I did a first time haircut with any stylist. It was $68 which is very cheap considering I came from Chicago. The haircut was done by someone with almost no experience, right out of school. I had no idea, given I wasn’t told that and booked an appointment for $68 so I assumed they had some experience. The cut is really bad, about a 2inch difference from my left and right side. That was $28. I called and asked to make an appointment to fix it, assuming I wouldn’t pay for their mistake. The assistant manager said we can book you for someone of the same level for free, otherwise you’d have to pay for the fix. Given I did not book a $28 cut in the first place or novice stylist, I feel that I shouldn’t have to pay for the fix. And I should get someone with experience. I would easily pay the original $68 or more for a stylist to get a good cut, the first time. This is a fix from their mistake. They said I’d have to pay the difference. She then said I knew I booked a novice stylist and that it gave her pricing on the final page. I said it did not but she reiterated that she checked, even as I had it pulled up in front of me. Also when booking the fix, she requested I send her photos of my cut. I don’t know how typical that is but it’s yet another hoop they made me jump through.
For my cut I asked for shoulder length with minimal layers, no framing and I part slightly left but mostly center. You can judge the cut for yourself.
My coworker mentioned that the original owners sold it, which is why they are having a decline in quality and...
Read moreIf I could give them zero stars I would. I came in wanting to go a honey blonde, I was told this was possible in one session, mind you I expressed I was okay with multiple. A new stylist and a senior stylist both worked on my hair and often made comments on how good it looked (very misleading) at the end of my session I booked a ROOT touch up two weeks from now. Not second session, a root touch up. I got home and saw that there was a huge chunk of dark brown in the middle of my head. There were random pieces of dark brown throughout my hair as well. I went to see a new stylist and she was shocked as to how they even messed my hair up this bad. I spoke to a manager and they made it seem as if there was just a miscommunication on how many sessions I would need. Even if I needed more than one session there is no reason there should be a HUGE amount of dark brown hair still in my hair. This wasn’t a miscommunication it...
